About RC200

The 2017 model year of the KTM RC200 doesn’t have mechanical updates, other than the fact that the engine is now BS4 compliant. A couple of changes have been made to its appearance – there are orange wheels, a white/orange paint scheme which has been introduced for 2017. Nothing else changes though, not even the price. That makes it a little more value for money, and as far as entry-level crotch rockets go, you can’t get much better than the RC200. There’s still no ABS, even as an option, and just like its elder sibling, it retains the scalpel-sharp handling that made us like it so much. If you’re looking for an all-new RC200, though, you’ll have to wait until the end of 2017 or beyond. There isn’t any real competition for the RC200 - the only other product that is as committed is the Yamaha YZF-R15, and that sits a segment below the RC200.

I was planning to buy a motorcycle, bought ktm from lajpat nagar showroom. The process was quiet smooth. The beast was a rc 200 w/ ixil l3x slip-on exhaust that costed my about 27k but it was worth buying because it made my rc a roaring monster. Ktm has done a fabulous job in designing of rc, it looks perfect from all angles.

Ktm rc is the closest thing to a superbike when it comes to handling, looks & ergonomics (seating posture), it looked uncomfortable but i found more comfort on rc than my tvs jupiter. I'm 5"8 & my weight was distributed equally. Sure the pillion seat looks like cowl but its very comfortable yet high. It has more features and high quality parts like suspension (43mm) , brakes, lights than tad expensive ninja 300 & yzf-r3. But this bike doesn't let you ride it slow, because of heating and its character. It accelerates from 0-100 in less than 10 secs. Which is almost faster than almost anything other motorcycle we see on streets.

When it comes to mileage, it gives about 25kmpl and has 9.5l fuel tank. Some will find it small, but its just perfect for me. Ktm's console is one the best i've seen and its loaded with features, some days back i found its engine rpm can be set through the console (isn't it cool).

Everytime i take my beast out, it makes me feel like i'm king of streets and love people's reaction to my loud orange flashy machine.

I'm happy with servicing and maintenance costs which is cheap but not with their servicing, every time its get serviced a new small problem arises. My rear mudguard gets loose every month.

If you are looking for a motorcycle with performance and looks on a budget. Look no further than a ktm, infact my next motorcycle will be ktm too.

    Pros:

    - fantastic looks

    - mind blowing performance

    - quality

    - suspension and brakes

    - headlight, taillight and beautiful drls

    - aggressive pricing

    - distinctive sweet sound

    - fattest tyres in segment

    Cons:

    - low mileage compared to other 200cc bikes.

    - heating in summer traffics.
