The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R isn’t just a motorcycle, it’s a statement. In a world full of parallel twins, the ZX-4R brings back the soul of motorcycling with its screaming inline-four engine, something we thought was gone forever in the middleweight segment.
From the moment you start it, the bike feels special. The exhaust note builds into a high-revving symphony that peaks near 14,000 RPM, delivering an experience that’s raw, addictive, and emotionally thrilling. It doesn’t just go fast—it makes you feel fast.
Performance-wise, the ZX-4R is in a league of its own. With around 75 PS (77 PS with RAM air), it outguns every bike in its class. The power delivery is smooth yet aggressive, rewarding riders who love revving their engines. On twisty roads or track days, this bike absolutely shines.
Handling is razor-sharp. The chassis feels planted, the suspension is confidence-inspiring, and the braking is strong and predictable. Kawasaki clearly tuned this bike for riders who enjoy precision and control, not just straight-line speed.
What truly seals the deal is the electronics package. You get traction control, power modes, a quick shifter, ABS, and a full-colour TFT display—features usually reserved for bigger superbikes. It feels premium in every sense.
Yes, it’s priced higher than typical 400cc bikes, but the ZX-4R isn’t a “typical” 400. It’s a mini superbike with real racing DNA. If you’re someone who values sound, character, and performance over just numbers on paper, this bike is worth every penny.
        Verdict:
The Ninja ZX-4R is not just the best bike in the 400cc segment—it’s one of the most exciting motorcycles on sale today. A modern classic that proves displacement isn’t everything. Pure Kawasaki madness, and we love it.

Very good bike in the segment but it’s quite expensive. My first riding experience is too good bike handle so well and it’s quite fun to ride and whenever my mind mood off I’m go to ride and it heals me. I love this bike. And go for this my this will never regret you after buying. It’s expensive but for beginners, this will be a good option.

Sports bike performance with a 400cc

        Geetesh

I bought the bike pre-owned. I've ridden only a couple of hundred km on it. Will mention the positives:
Great looks - looks fab, one of the best looking sports bikes, especially like it in black
Handling: The bike is very flickable and easy to maneuver. Can be a great corner carver.
Aural pleasure: the sound of the engine, even at lower rpms, is fabulous, sounds like a much bigger bike
        Cons:
Service: Kawasaki service is on the higher side. Also, no over-the-counter parts from Kawasaki, so it can be expensive to maintain
Riding triangle: even though it's quite comfortable by super sport standards, it will be more strenuous than your normal sports tourer, so long rides need to be well thought out with adequate breaks. I did take a few rides to get used to the position.

The engine sounds and feels fabulous but it doesn't have vast reserves of power for overtakes. You've really got to drop gears and nail it.

        Himanshu

It's relatively soft on the road and quite a plush ride, surprisingly. Yet it handles brilliantly, and that's coming from someone who likes trellis-framed Ducatis. The handlebars are relatively high for a sports bike and I am almost upright on it, having long arms. Why can't manufacturers offer bars like these on their litre sports bikes? People would probably start buying them again.
