TVS Motors have built a new moto-scooter. While there is nothing new about moto-scooters, TVS has built one that aims to give the versatility of a motorcycle to your everyday commuter.
What’s new?
The EntorQ is a crossover between a scooter and a motorcycle. While it retains the step through convenience of a moto-scooter along with a CVT gearbox, it also gets 14-inch high profile tyres. The telescopic front forks with a hydraulic disc brake will make it handle like a motorcycle while absorbing road bumps with ease. It also gets a smartphone holder on its handlebar. While no details on the engine specs are available, we know it gets fuel injection.
India relevance?
With the 210 nomenclature we think it has a 200cc above engine which makes it a power-scooter. The only scooter in this category that we had in India is the Kinetic Blaze. With the moto-scooter market growing in size, a production version of the scooter would actually make sense in India. With Peugeot teaming up with Mahindra and Yamaha showcasing the N-Max, we may have something in the offing.
Launch plans?
The EntorQ is a concept and there is hardly any chance of it seeing the light of the day as a production bike. But what we can see here is how TVS is thinking about future scooters.
