2022 KTM RC 125: What else can you buy?

After launching the new 2022 RC 125 in October, KTM has recently started dispatching it to the dealerships. While it’s an ideal entry point into KTM’s supersport family, its price tag of Rs 1.82 lakh might be exorbitant for some. If that’s the case, here are four similarly-priced alternatives for you. 

Yamaha YZF R15 V4

The Yamaha YZF R15 V4 is another small-size fully-faired motorcycle available in India. As compared to the RC 125, it has a larger and more powerful 155cc engine that gets variable valve actuation technology. It also gets a quick shifter and traction control system that make it the most feature-loaded bike in its class. Interestingly, it’s also cheaper than the KTM with prices starting from Rs 1.71 lakh.

Suzuki Gixxer SF 250

If you want a fully-faired motorcycle bigger in displacement than the above two, Suzuki has the Gixxer SF 250. It’s priced at Rs 1.85 lakh making it slightly more expensive than the RC 125. However, it offers double the displacement with a 250cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that’s highly revered for its refinement and smoothness. Despite the sporty styling, it’s comfortable enough to be ridden over long distances. 

KTM 125 Duke

If a stripped-down naked machine is your cup of tea over a faired machine, then the RC 125’s roadster sibling, the 125 Duke should be your pick. Except for a different headlamp, it sports a styling identical to its bigger sibling, the 390 Duke. It also gets a fully-digital instrument cluster, full-LED lighting, premium USD forks, an aluminum swingarm, and a trellis frame. The engine, meanwhile, is the same 14.3bhp, 124.7cc, liquid-cooled unit as its RC counterpart. 

Jawa Standard 

For those who want a pair of wheels that take them back to the good old days, they must go for the Jawa Standard. It is a quintessential modern-retro offering from Classic Legends that goes up against the Royal Enfield Classic 350. The Jawa runs on a 293cc, liquid-cooled engine that produces 27bhp and 27.05Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The prices of the motorcycle start at Rs 1.78 lakh and it comes in options of a single and dual ABS.
