2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300: What else can you buy?

Kawasaki India has announced the launch of the 2022 Ninja 300 in our market at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This twin-cylinder-powered motorcycle is the entry-level product in Kawasaki India’s portfolio and it contributes a major chunk to the manufacturer’s sales in the country. But what else can you purchase in a similar price range? Here we list the alternatives to the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300.

KTM 390 Adventure

The KTM 390 Adventure is a proper alternative for people looking for a touring-focussed motorcycle. Despite carrying a relatively lower price tag than the entry-level Kawasaki sports-tourer, this Austrian product packs better power output and more features. The 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the 390 Adventure produces 42.3bhp of power and 37Nm of peak torque. The feature list on this KTM motorcycle comprises full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, and traction control system.

BMW G 310 GS

BMW Motorrad’s entry-level adventure tourer received a major price cut during the BS6 transition and it is now available at Rs 3.05 lakh. It may not pack as many features as the KTM 390 Adventure, but it makes the BMW badge more accessible to a wide range of buyers. This touring-focussed motorcycle shares its 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with the G 310 R. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to deliver 33.5bhp of power and 28Nm of peak torque. The feature list comprises full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 650

Royal Enfield’s Continental GT 650 is a proper alternative for buyers looking for a café-racer-style motorcycle. The feature list is basic, but the Continental GT 650 makes the middleweight segment more accessible with its aggressive price tag. This Royal Enfield motorcycle is available from Rs 3.03 lakh onwards. For that price, you get a 648cc, twin-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine that makes 47bhp of power and 52Nm of peak torque. The feature list, as mentioned earlier, is basic and this café-racer uses a halogen headlight, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS.

The 2022 KTM RC390 is the most feature-laden and value-for-money rival to the Kawasaki Ninja 300. This motorcycle benefits from a powerful 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 42.9bhp and 35Nm of peak torque. Apart from the power-packed engine, the RC390 also benefits from features such as full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, ABS, and traction control system.
