    Kawasaki W230 Summary

Kawasaki W230 is expected to launch in India in August 2025 in the expected price range of ₹ 2,20,000 to ₹ 2,40,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to W230 are Triumph Speed T4, TVS Apache RTR 310 & Honda CB300R.

The W230 is an extension of Kawasaki’s iconic W series of modern-retro motorcycles. It has already been launched in select international markets and is expected to enter the Indian shores in the near future. Once launched, it will perhaps replace the W175 as the Japanese brand’s most affordable offering for India. If priced competitively, it will compete against the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa 350, and Honda H’ness CB350.

Visually, the W230 draws inspiration from the 1960’s Kawasaki W1. From the round LED headlight, to the teardrop-shaped fuel tank and the curved fenders, it’s a quintessential retro-inspired offering. There are other interesting details such as the retro-styled ‘W’ logo on the fuel tank and the graphics that contrast very well with the Metallic Ocean Blue colour. As for the features, it has an LED headlight and a twin-pod analogue instrument cluster.

The W230 is powered by a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 18.98Nm at 5,800rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. As for the hardware, the bike employs a semi-double, cradle steel frame that is suspended by a 37mm telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. Meanwhile, braking duties are taken care of by a 265mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc, with ABS as standard.

Mudguard should be a big size like retro Jawa bikes which also helps to keep the bike clean. The rest is fine. Exhaust Sound must be like old school bike in the absence of a good exhaust sound, it will be a big disaster. Because the main competition will be with RE.

It should come to the Indian market very soon, Kawasaki can play the game of numbers with w230 in the coming days. Why it is still not coming to India is a big question asked by many bike enthusiasts

Too expensive for a 230 and the design doesn't look retro it just looks outdated
The seat design looks bad if said blatantly then just plain ugly can't say it looks comfortable, you can literally buy a bullet 350 mid model at that price or a hunter 350 top model at less price

If it gives good power and mileage, I will surely buy it. I hope the company will try to fulfill my demand and the price will be under 200000 so everybody will be able to buy it for sure.

    • I think it is the best-looking and best-built retro bike in the 250cc segment.

I think it is the best-looking and best-built retro bike in the 250cc segment. The low seat height and weight will be best suited for a segment of riders who are short and who feel more comfortable riding a lighter bike that can be managed.

    • (Overpriced) People will go for the Royal Enfield Hunter for sure, or the price should be less than or equal to Royal Enfield Hunter.

      Raj
The price should be low; the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 comes at a lower price with better power. If Kawasaki wants to sell this bike in the Indian market, the price should be less than or equal to Hunter.
