BMW R nineT [2018-2019] Summary

BMW R nineT is the fourth roadster from the German manufacturer to make its way to India after S1000R, K13000R and the R12000R. The motorcycle will be sold as a completely-built-up (CBU) through all BMW Motorrad dealerships.

The R nineT is powered by air-cooled flat twin 1170cc boxer engine that produces 110bhp at 7550rpm and maximum torque of 119Nm at 6000rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox that transfers power to rear wheels via chain drive. BMW claims the fuel efficiency of the motorcycle at 22.kmpl and can reach a top speed of 200kmph.

BMW has designed the motorcycle keeping in café racer theme in mind. The tail section looks very retro because of its overall design. Round headlamps, spoked wheels and aluminium accents make this bike look classic. The pillion seat is removable and the akrapovic exhaust, which runs down the left side of the R nineT, can be mounted in a lowered or raised position, depending on the length of the connector accessory pipe ordered.

The Indian arm of the German manufacturer is providing various customisations to this motorcycle, depending on the customers’ requirements.

BMW R nineT [2018-2019] Review

  • Good Things

    • Gets excellent quality parts
    • The seating is good for city riding
  • Could be Better

    • The service network is limited
    • Is expensive compared to rivals
    • Could get more features

BikeWale's Take

The BMW R Nine T is a heritage classic with a design inspired from cafe-racers. And hence has a riding position comfortable enough for the city. However, the bike is pricey as compared to its rivals and given the number of features it offers. The BMW R Nine T could also do with a wider service network.

A good experience when i went to leh ladakh tour. The engine sounds good the comfort is brilliant. ....But the maintenance is of course a big deal........... But it is reasonable for such a good experience. .......The bike is an promisingly eye-catcher. .......Paying such a big amount is reasonable for the bike .....I too own a bmw z4 and 3 series gt.... A good experience with bmw..

When you see the word soul fuel it evokes a certain feeling that not many can relate but only a rider can relate it to his motobike, bmw r nine t i meant to do just that it's an super cool bike. The looks, the ride, the sound all of if sync in perfect harmony to give you the ultimate classic drive experience. I got mine from evm autokraft ernakulam kerala, great team excellent staff made my purchase experience memorable. The only con i have to say is it's just too good a bike.

      Ramesh

It is excellent in appearance and performance. Best class in mileage and less maintenance. Abs facilitates better safety for rider and pinion. Mere 1200 cc gets better performance and 4 valve system enhances the functionality and enhances better fuel consumption.Willing to make a test ride and planning to own one in the future.Love bmw!!!
