Style looks great. Front is very stylish and aerodynamic.
Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox awesome engine sound, 38 - 41 kmpl mileage. Gearbox is smooth, sometimes it gives trouble shifting to 1st gear from neutral. Engine becomes hot easily.
Ride quality & handlin very easy to handle in traffic, back seat is little high but for rider its very comfortable.
Final words its the best in its price range. Suzuki has compromised with its engine but it is
areas of improvement disc brake in rear should be introduced and engine capacity should be increased.
Pros
looks, sound, mileage
cons
two heavy in front, no disc brake for rear wheel, oil cooling

Gixxer sf is a winner, a big time crowd puller
8 years ago
Angad
Style when it comes to style, suzuki gixxer sf is a clear winner. Others may have a different viewpoint but no matter from which angle you look at the bike, it seems the machine is waiting to race. I read a few reviews by experts and users where they said the bike looks smaller at times and the headlight design does not fit well to the overall built but i would differ with them. Yes, this bike grabs instant attention, from people of all age groups -- male and female. In the midst of bumper to bumper traffic, gixxer sf enjoys the attention from people driving audis, bmws and all high-end brands. They say royal enfield rides are arrogant but i noticed even them turning their head. You hit the road, park it somewhere or just cruise on the highway -- gixxer becomes the central point of attention immediately.
Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox the engine is incredibly powerful. In fact, i might be exaggareting if i say gixxer sf actually throws you backward when revved hard. Undoubtedly, it can't meet the power delivery of yamaha r15 or honda cbr but it can't be counted out as well. Just rev the throttle and you get power on demand, adequate enough to make vehicles disappear on the rear-view mirror. On highways, the bike just flies, sans any vibration. The engine does not sound stressed even after crossing the 100 kmph mark.
Though my bike is still new, it is giving me a good mileage. I ride in mixed conditions mostly and refuel once a week (5 litres of petrol), less than half of the fuel tank's capacity and still don't need to switch to reserve mode. I hope you get the hint here.
The gear shifting was incredibly messy before the first servicing. Even after getting the servicing done, gear shifting has not become that smoother. But don't lose heart, it is very muchmanagable. While it's not butter smooth, it won't leave you stuck also.
Ride quality & handling ride quality is awesome and handling is brilliant. For a bike, that weighs more than 300 pounds and carries me (almost 200 pounds), the handling is brilliant. It maintains a straight line, sticks to the ground and does not deviate. The wind blasts are taken care off by the fairing and windshield and you don't need to worry while riding in high speeds. Oh yes, if you duck down while riding post 90-100 kmph, your body would tackle the windblasts better.
Final words suzuki gixxer sf is a no-nonsense commuter bike that can double up as tourer. Gifted with super sporty looks, the bike is an excellent companion for city as well as highway riding. The seating position, (during solo riding) can be customized according to the rider's comfort. The mileage is good considering the fact that it has a poweful engine.
Areas of improvement the bike should get a more aggressive seating position, rear disc brake, split seats, brighter headlamp and a 200-cc version (being greedy here) would make it a class apart.
Pros
looks, styling, built, handling, engine, power delivery, braking, acceleration, ride quality
cons
headlamp brightness, no rear disc brake, less aggressive seating posture

Black gixxer sf rear disc.
Driven 7000 kms in around 8 months, mostly in daily commute to office and short highway sprints for fun. I am no pro, i have driven a lot of bikes for short duration, this is my first proper bike.
Style
this bike looks awesome, one of the main reasons i brought it. Many times people ask me which bike is it or how costly it is, its that good. Paint job and overall quality of components is fantastic.
Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox
engine performance is very good for a bike of comparable displacement. I find the acceleration as the best part about my bike. The gear ratios are awesome in my opinion. They make it so easy to drive this bike in the city or the highway (easily 115km/hr). In crawling traffic, you can just zip through without much shifts at all. Gearbox is clicky, could have been a bit soft but i have got used to the clicky feel. In my near 7k of driving till now, i have never encountered a false gear shift or such from the gearbox. The gearbox was a bit stiff till the 1st service, it has only become smoother since then. Mid range performance plus gearbox totally owns the segment. Fuel economy is decent. I haven't measured it by the scale but its definately above 40kmpl mark
ride quality & handling
vibration is negligible. You will only notice it on high speeds mostly on the foot rest. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, this thing is refined. After every servicing, it feels like new that regards.
Brakes : go for the rear disc variant please. I had driven my friends gixxer sf without rear disc for some time and i always felt that the brakes could be better. When i brought mine, i immediately fell in love with the front+rear disc setup. Since the brakes are so good, you can push the bike, because you know, those brakes will handle anything that might come.
Final words
for the price, i think there's no bike better than this. Even if there are, you will never regret buying gixxer sf. It looks good, fuel economy is very good, perofrmance is nice and most importantly, it's fun to drive. I have finished 8000kms and i still love to drive my gixxer around as if its new. Be realistic though. Don't expect it to beat a cbr150 or r15 in terms of performance, those are 150 ccc with more torque and oil cooling.
Areas of improvement
#1 i would have loved split seat. Any one who sits behind complains about not being very comfortable (compared to normal commuter bikes with flat seats & the height is much more.).
#2 The rear suspension could have been a bit soft. Mine is already set on the lowest possible setting. This is not a problem really, i am being nit picky. :P

Best bike in this segment but after sales service is poor. Mileage and power is quite good. Spare parts and maintenance is on the lower side. Chain sprocket lasts 30k kilometers. Power and handling is absolutely great. Breaking is pretty good . I owned single channel abs model with fuel injector. Very refined engine.

Journey with the 2016 gixxer sf

I bought suzuki gixxer sf matt triton blue from bharat suzuki pune. Pros.1.Good machine, engine performance is remarkable. 2.No heating issue up to 40k after that slight heating was started from engine side. 3.Riding position 4.Gear ratio 5.Good aerodynamic design. Cons: 1. Tight gear shaft, painful gear shifting. If the clutch wire is little loose then it is horrible to change the gear. 2.Oil leakage through magnetic coil wire. They first replaced the cover. It costs around 250 rupees, but it was not stopped. Then i changed magnetic coil (rs 1600). After 100 km again restarted the same problem. After watching a youtube video i applied some gasket maker on the part , then only it stopped.3.Spare part availability is very poor in our area. My front break disc was damaged and purchased new one. When the mechanic started to changing it he said that your mc kit and wheel cylinder kit should be replaced then only we can fix the issue permanently. I inquired in three authorized showrooms in my area and all of them said that part is not available here. Then i searched on local market their also it was not available. Then i tried mc kit with pulsar 180 spare and caliper piston with cb shine, both works fine in gixxer sf. I ordered these parts in bharat suzuki they said that it take 2 weeks to reach the item. After 2 weeks i called them , but again they needed one more week. At last i received a message that my parts are came. I visited showroom and told them that i need only wc kit , they gave me one piston with o rings. After that they arranged one more pistons after three days. Total 25 days for a small spare part. 4.During rain water will enter through tank cap. It will cause corrosion inside water tank . Check frequently. 5.Switch quality is below average. 6.Handle bar is not good. The side stand is too straight. Bike fell down many times due to this height of side stand. All these times handle bar gets some damage and its quality is very bad. 7. Seat comfort is not up to the mark. Especially pillion seat. Pillion will feel discomfort even after 20km ride.Rider can enjoy 60 km continuous ride easily.8.Spare parts rates are similar to royal enfield parts. Average life of some parts: 1.Chain sprocket-13000-16000km. 2.Front disc pad-15000km. 3.Clutch cable-22000km. 4. Accelarator cable-20000km 5.Mrf tyres -25000k. 6.Engine oil-4500km. 7.Cone set-25000km.

My gixxer my ride

I bought my gixxer sf rear disc variant few months back in january 2017.Ever since i bought this bike the most striking thing everybody noticed was its visual appeal. It looks much bigger and expensive bike than it actually is.It has beat in class comfort with nature of a sports touring motorcycle.Without going too much deep here lets directly talk about its pros and cons..
1.Advantages:-it has superb road presence and it turn heads almost everywhere on road and people of all age groups seem to have a keen interest in it.
It has a upright seating posture without aggressive sporty stance which helps you for touring for long distances without ending up with a sore and numb back.
Its very agile and could be used for daily commuting through city traffic.
. It have ample amount of power lower down the rev range which helps you to rip through the traffic.
. It hardly has any vibrations at higher speeds and feels very refined and smooth on highways.
. All these qualities makes it superb bike for weekend touring.
2.Disadvantages:-breaking abilities on this bike could have been much better than it is.
. The biggest drawback of this bike is the small pillion seat. The room for pillion is limited and so its becomes uncomfortable for pillion on long rides.
. The headlights are poor and very ineffective in dark. The company should consider improving the headlamps to improve visibility in bad weather conditions and at night.
Final verdict:-overall it is a value for money product as it is the cheapest fully faired bike in india. So if you are looking for a stylish commuter bike with all modern amenities under a limited budget then this is the one motorbike you must be looking forward to ...
Hope my review proves helpful for all
of those looking forward to buy this bike..Thank you..

I have purchased this bike after paying full payment in cash. Bike is good. Plastic quality of fairing is not good. But after sales service from company's end is worst.and you would not get cash less insurance claim for suzuki bikes. Gixxer sf is a winner, a big time crowd puller
8 years ago

I have purchased this bike after paying full payment in cash. Bike is good. Plastic quality of fairing is not good. But after sales service from company's end is worst.and you would not get cash less insurance claim for suzuki bikes. Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox awesome engine sound, 38 - 41 kmpl mileage. Gearbox is smooth, sometimes it gives trouble shifting to 1st gear from neutral. Engine becomes hot easily.
