TVS Apache RTR 165 RP: What else can you buy?

TVS recently launched something very radical in the form of the Apache RTR 165RP. Featuring an 18.9bhp, 165cc engine with Showa front forks and racy graphics, the motorcycle truly stands out. However, it will be limited to 200 units only. In that case, if it gets sold out by the time you make your purchase decision, here are your other options with prices similar to Apache RTR 165RP’s Rs 1.45 lakh price tag.

Yamaha MT 15: Rs 1,46,900 to Rs 1,49,900

The Yamaha MT 15 makes nearly the same power and torque as the RTR 165 RP even in its stock form. And then the presence of variable valve actuation technology means it revs high and freely. Even the taut handling of the MT 15 matches its engine performance which makes it a fun bike to ride, especially in the city and in twisties.

Honda CB200X: Rs 1,44,500

If you want a touring motorcycle or something that looks like one, the Honda CB200X is a likeable offering. Its 184.4.cc, air-cooled engine, which is the same as the Hornet 2.0, is smooth and decently peppy, ideal for your urban runabouts and short weekend rides. With a slightly different handlebar, the ergonomics also feel more relaxed than the Hornet.

Bajaj Pulsar F250: Rs 1,40,000

The Bajaj Pulsar F250, in a way, is the modern iteration of the massively popular Pulsar 220 F. It gets a similar semi-faired design but in a more aggressive and sportier avatar. Moreover, the 249cc, oil-cooled engine of the bike is pretty torquey with the performance numbers standing at 24.1bhp and 21.5Nm. The five-speed gearbox is accompanied by an assist and slipper clutch.

Royal Enfield Bullet 350: Rs 1,38,726 to Rs 1,60,493

If you’re ready to consider something entirely different than the Apache, something more conventional and old-school, Royal Enfield’s oldest-running Bullet 350 starts from Rs 1.39 lakh. It boasts a British vintage design with a round headlamp, peanut-shaped fuel tank, spoke wheels and a lot of metal body panels. The 346cc engine of the bike isn’t high on performance but its ‘dug dug’ exhaust note is admired by many.
