The Indian two-wheeler market has started to regain its momentum with the lockdown lifting gradually in select regions. From Royal Enfield restarting test runs of its future models to BMW launching all-new motorcycles, the last week witnessed several major developments. To give you a recap, here are the top five noteworthy two-wheeler stories from the last week

BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR launched

After unveiling the all-new F 900 R street bike and F 900 XR sports tourer at the EICMA 2019, BMW Motorrad has launched these bikes in India. While the former is priced at Rs 9.90 lakh, the latter costs Rs 10.50 lakh. The XR model also comes in a Pro version which demands a premium of a lakh rupees over the standard trim. Both bikes are powered by an 895cc, parallel-twin engine which makes 99bhp at 8,500rpm and 90.08Nm at 6,500rpm.

New Royal Enfield spotted testing

Royal Enfield is reportedly working on multiple new models, one of which was recently spotted testing near the company’s manufacturing facility in Chennai. The motorcycle sported a roadster styling with a low seat height, easy-to-reach handlebar, flat seat, long rear fender and high-mounted tail lamp. Rumours suggest that this motorcycle will be called the Hunter, a name which RE had trademarked a few months back. Click on the story link to know more about the bike.

KTM bikes prices hiked

KTM has revised the prices of all the models in its India portfolio, except for the 790 Duke. The largest hike has been received by the 390 Adventure and the RC 390 which are now Rs 5,109 more expensive. Meanwhile, the least increment has been witnessed by the entry-level 125 Duke street bike. While all these bikes are now available as BS6-compliant models, KTM is yet to make an announcement about the BS6 790 Duke.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, Vitpilen 250 prices increased

Besides KTM, its sister brand Husqvarna has also increased the prices of the only two motorcycles in its India line-up – the Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250. Both bikes now demand a premium of Rs 4,736 over their previous pricing and cost Rs 184,192 now. The Huskies were launched in February in India and are retailed through KTM dealerships. While both bikes are powered by a common 250cc motor borrowed from the KTM 250 Duke, they boast of a distinctive neo-retro styling with modern features and premium hardware.

New BattRe electric scooter launched

BattRe has launched a new electric scooter, the gps:ie in India. Priced at Rs 64,990, the gps:ie is a connected e-scooter which comprises of a SIM card which can be accessed through a smartphone app. It packs several modern features such as GPS tracking, remote immobilisation and geo fence. Powering the gps:ie is a 48V24Ah lithium-ion battery which is claimed to deliver a range of 65kms. BattRE will sell the scooter through its dealerships present in various locations across India and it will also be available on Amazon.
