Kawasaki India has launched its most-affordable model, the W175 in our market. This retro-style motorcycle is available in two variants – Standard and Special Edition, and it competes in the same price range as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin.
While the standard version will be available in the Ebony paint scheme, the Special Edition will boast the bold Candy Persimmon Red colour. The difference between the two options is limited to the paint themes.
The mechanical specifications on the W175 include a BS6-compliant 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to deliver a maximum output of 12.8bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 13.2Nm at 6,000rpm.
The hardware comprises a double-cradle chassis while the suspension tasks are handled by telescopic front forks and twin rear springs. The braking setup includes a single 270mm petal-type rotor at the front and a 110mm drum brake at the back while the safety net comprises a single-channel ABS. The feature list is basic and the Kawasaki W175 packs a halogen-type headlight, a halogen taillight, conventional turn indicators, and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

Kawasaki W175 Review: A Perfect Blend of Classic Style and Modern Performance
17 weeks ago
Milton
I recently had the opportunity to take the Kawasaki W175 for a spin, and I must say, it left a lasting impression. As someone who appreciates the charm of classic motorcycles but doesn’t want to sacrifice modern performance, the W175 strikes an excellent balance between old-school aesthetics and contemporary features.Design & Build Quality: 9/10The first thing that stands out about the W175 is its design. With its retro-inspired styling, round headlamp, vintage-looking tank, and spoked wheels, it exudes a timeless charm that makes you feel like you're riding a classic from the 60s or 70s. The build quality is impressive as well — Kawasaki has done a fantastic job of ensuring the W175 feels sturdy and well-constructed. Even the paint finish has that premium feel.Performance: 8.5/10For a 177cc engine, the W175 performs remarkably well. It’s not about top-end speed, but more about the joy of the ride. The engine is smooth, offering enough power for city commuting and short highway rides. The 5-speed gearbox is precise, and shifting is easy. The torque is sufficient for daily use, and the motorcycle feels agile in both city traffic and on winding roads.Comfort & Ride Quality: 9/10The ride quality is one of the standout features. The suspension absorbs bumps well, offering a smooth experience even on uneven roads. The seat is comfortable enough for short to medium rides, and the upright riding position is easy on the back. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, the W175’s ergonomic design makes it a pleasure to ride.Fuel Efficiency: 9/10One of the highlights of this bike is its excellent fuel economy. Kawasaki claims a mileage of around 45-50 km/l, which is impressive, especially given its performance. If you're looking for a bike that can handle daily commutes without constantly needing to refuel, the W175 is a solid choice.Handling & Maneuverability: 8.5/10The W175 handles surprisingly well for a retro-styled bike. Its light weight and narrow profile make it easy to maneuver, especially in tight spaces or heavy traffic. The braking is reliable, with decent feedback from the disc brakes both front and rear.Final Thoughts:All in all, the Kawasaki W175 is a fantastic motorcycle for those looking for a stylish, low-maintenance, and fun-to-ride bike that can handle everyday commuting. It’s not a high-performance machine, but it doesn’t need to be — it’s designed for riders who appreciate classic aesthetics, solid performance, and a great riding experience. Highly recommended for both new and experienced riders!

Kawasaki w175 : Cheating in making

I bought it just because it is simple and weightless, just by trusting the brand. It cost 1.7 lakhs in Hyderabad, where they also charged handling fees.I just got out the showroom and post-riding for a kilometre... I could smell the burning and heating from the engine and there was an annoying engine noise coming. I thought it was a new bike and that might be gone post some usage. The annoying sound from the engine continued and the heating became unbearable. I raised the complaint during servicing and they said it is tappet noise and that it can't be controlled and they have no option for overheating. And coming to performance... Bajaj ct 100 is 100x better than this fake 170 cc bike by Kawasaki. To take a turn and if you become a little slow, you have to shift to first gear every time. And drum brakes are the worst and you don't feel confident at all. Buying this bike is the second biggest mistake of my life and the first one is trusting Kawasaki. They are nothing but cheaters who deserve slipper shots.TVS Apache and Pulsar have got more than everything, including safety features, at this price.I repeat... The Kawasakis have disrespected, and this bike is the example.

Bike is good but i think it's outdated for current time as we have batter mileage and performance in same segment but at the end for core Kawasaki fans this bike as amazing and it also gives a nostalgia with its powerful halogen hed lamp and tail lamp but same time morden vechile provide led lamps which are more energy efficient.

Engine knocking problem
Kedar
The bike has a very weird engine noise which is very frustrating for me. I started suffering from this problem after riding it around 150 km. I immediately visited the service station, they said that it would be fixed in the first service guaranteed. Later when I serviced my motorcycle I was handed over a very expensive bill which I didn't see any value still engine knocking isn't fixed after 850km and now they said it's quite normal and they will fix it in the next service. Now I don't seem to have any option than to ride this weird noisy motorcycle till the next 6000km. The second problem I faced was the gear shifting wasn't quite smooth compared with my 2005 Super Splendor. Lastly, there are no accessories provided by Kawasaki like a backrest, visor, or even seat cover

Problems are:Engine overheated: After covering around 20-30 kms, the engine gets very hot. Even my legs get too hot which makes it difficult to driveVehicle pickup: When I have to cross a level road, I have to put it in first gear, this kind of problem requires me to change gears more often and it takes a lot of effort to drive the vehicle.Wobbling: If the vehicle speed exceeds 60 km, the handle shakes a lotPetrol gauge: The petrol level in the tank is not visible properlyMillage: an average millage comes 20-22 kmSpeedometer: does not show correct reading.

Fabulous modern classic..!
Chaitanya Mangisetty
Amazing ownership - I used it for daily errands and joy rides. Very comfortable, and stable, with tall gearing so takes getting used to, a smooth engine and transmission, proper retro feel with modern components. A no-nonsense modern classic which super easy to ride, fun in city streets and can cruise comfortably on countryside open roads. One point to be noted strongly though - only those who seek, understand and appreciate modern classics will truly enjoy this machine. Otherwise please feel free to buy an Apache or Pulsar be happy!

Raised a petition: https://chng.it/ZJrpvyMHyQ please check as the below are the health hazards due to the Wi175 Engine Overheating to more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Will Run a campaign to educate the Kawasaki W175 owners/buyers about substandard designed low-quality bikes are sold and being sold by Kawasaki even after clearly knowing it has engine overheating problem and this needs to be stopped and Kawasaki fined for damaging human health even after knowing that exposure of the human leg from thigh to ankle to temperatures around & beyond 100 degrees Fahrenheit will potentially cause a range of problems - 1. Skin damage will occur through the formation of blisters and other burns. 2. The sweat glands will also be triggered, which can lead to dehydration if not addressed soon. Long-term exposure to such temperatures can cause permanent pigment changes, as well as damage to the blood vessels in the skin. So, please

Brand is not important

I bought this bike in January 2023, and the bike is producing overheating which is unbearable, within 5kms it is producing overheating here I worked shoes while driving, and from the first month have started complaining about the issue to the showroom, service center, and customer support till now no solution. Service center people always say cooked-up stores, last month (June) they told me the company is recalling bikes. Today 3rd Aug 23 company is not calling for a recall. Just made time, and my bike is ideal at home since January am not evening driving I have driven only 1000km till now. I suggest not buying this by looking at fake reviews, brand is nothing these days, based on the brand company selling very cheap products. I never expected this kind from Kawasaki. Now I will tell you how was interaction with the showroom. Visited the showroom sales agent don’t have any bike knowledge Means product knowledge of Kawasaki w175.I asked service cost for this bike they said no idea.” No free service is given for this bike “, they will not revile until you buy a bike. they will just its a premium bike. They won’t give any discount, simply say premium bike. And the service cost is very high labor charges are 1300 for the first service these are standard they won’t do much work in 1 service( oil change, filter change, lubricants chain, just check breakers that are all the total bill will be 3000 or more.About the heating issue, they will say after 1 service it will get solved.here is the story will begin you will complain showroom, service customer service and you will get fed up. They will say the company is going to come up with a solution. More insurance will get wast if you don’t drive a bike. I requested whoever bought this bike asked them to give a job card or letter from the service center that the bike is producing overheating. That will help file complaints in consumer court it’s a suggestion. For More info, you can reach me, whoever bought this bike all suffering

This bike reminds me of a con artist. It has the name of Kawasaki but it lacks anything which Kawasaki has as default! Look at it does it feel even like a 210k bike? With such poor power & torque with no modern technology, even my dadaji says it is horrible enough to be called a daddu (dumb) bike. Kawasaki, I have deep respect for you, so kindly launch a 400cc naked with the dual cylinder at an attractive price!
