The big boy of HMSI’s range in India, the Honda CBR1000 Fireblade is their flagship sports bike but is surpassed by the VFR1200 in terms of price. Its gets an aggressive styling design but very much looks like an evolution of the previous models.
The Honda CBR1000 is powered by a liquid cooled 999cc four cylinder engine that produces 176bhp and 112Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox that sends power to the rear wheel via a chain drive and is underpinned by a mono-backbone aluminium chassis. Standard features include C-ABS, digital instrumental console, telescopic forks in front and gas charged units for the rear and an LED tail lamp.
The superbike has been fitted with an 18-litre tank (four-litre reserve) giving it a range of 280km. It competes in the litre class with the Yamaha R1, Suzuki GSX-1000, Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Kawasaki ZX-10R.
