Bajaj has launched the new twin-disc Pulsar 150 in India at Rs 78,016 (ex-showroom). This model is Rs 4,390 pricier than the standard bike, although it does benefit from a slew of technological upgrades.
For starters, the Pulsar 150 twin-disc features a flashy dual-tone blue/black paint scheme with red stripes. The wheels feature blue rim tapes while the single-piece seat has been replaced with split seats to give it a sportier appeal. Even the grab rail gets a new split two-piece design. Then there is the new 230mm rear disc brake. To accommodate this, Bajaj replaced the swingarm with the one from the Pulsar 180, which means that even the rear tyre is meatier than before. While the standard bike gets 100mm wide rear tyre, the one in the twin-disc variant is 120mm wide. The front gets beefier 37mm telescopic forks and a bigger 260mm disc brake.
At the heart of the Pulsar 150 is a 149cc single-cylinder engine. It delivers 13.8bhp and 13.4Nm of torque through a five-speed transmission. The Pulsar 150 twin-disc competes against the TVS Apache RTR 160, Honda CB Unicorn 160 and the Hero Xtreme Sports.
