Yamaha FZ S V3: Rs 1,01,700

The Yamaha FZ S V3 is a modern street bike with muscular looks. It gets a compact, low-slung headlamp along with a beefy fuel tank and stubby tail section. Besides an LED headlamp and tail lamp, it also gets a fully-digital instrument cluster. Bajaj Pulsar NS160: Rs 1,05,901

A close rival to the Yamaha FZ V3 is the Bajaj Pulsar NS160. It boasts of an aggressive styling with angular body panels, which is identical to its larger sibling, the Pulsar NS200. While the presence of a clip-on handlebar and split seat lend it a sporty character, the perimeter frame it is based on aids in decent handling. The 160.3cc, oil-cooled engine of the Pulsar makes 16.8bhp and 14.6Nm of peak torque.

Bajaj Pulsar 180FRs 1,10,330

Moving slightly up in the displacement ladder, Bajaj also has the Pulsar 180F in its line-up. The main USP of this bike is that it borrows its quarter-faired styling from the larger Pulsar 220F, which continues to have a decent fan-following even years after its inception. However, despite featuring a larger displacement engine than the NS160, the 178.6cc mill of the 180F makes lesser power at 16.6bhp and 14.52Nm.

Hero Xtreme 200SRs 1,00,900

The Hero Xtreme 200S not only packs the largest engine in this list but is also the most affordable offering here. However, it is yet to receive the BS6 update which will attract a marginal premium over the current pricing. The Xtreme 200S filled the void for a fully-faired motorcycle in Hero’s portfolio after it discontinued the Karizma ZMR. Although it looks sporty , the easy-to-reach handlebar and centre-set footpegs make it a comfortable motorcycle. Furthermore, what makes it stand out is the fully-digital display which gets Bluetooth connectivity.

A successor to the SR 150, it is a sport scooter with a peppy 160cc engine and motorcycle-like handling dynamics. It is based on a tubular, single-cradle frame and rides on large 14-inch wheels with 30mm telescopic forks and a monoshock.
