Best sports tourer in this segment

1 month ago by Shekhar Ranjan Gogoi273 views

Been using my dominar 400 for almost 2 years.
It's my daily ride, weekend tourer all rolled into one. Absolutely top-notch performance to date. Dual-channel abs and slipper clutch adds to the safety quotient. Servicing and maintenance costs have been quite reasonable till now.
Was contemplating between dominar and royal enfield himalayan. However, after almost 2 years and 15,000 kms am quite happy with my choice. One of the best sports tourers in this segment and budget.

Tips for Bajaj Dominar 400

Always use synthetic engine oil. Service at specified regular intervals. This is a premium product from Bajaj and it shows in the quality.

This bike is an absolute monster , compared to d390 u will feel the power is a bit less its bcoz of the weight . To the given value this is a good package , i have read a lot of reviews where people have been complaining about the build quality, honestly, everything is good except the 10 percent lag in the quality . See if the quality increases the price of the bike will also increase. I was charged 2.2 k for the first service. Beyond 145 the acceleration is slow but quick enough to touch 165. But being very honest if u need power go for d390 .

I've owned this bike for a bit now and I've done more than 5k on it with 3 long rides
Here are 5 major pros and cons that I've told based on my experience. They might be subjective but here you go:
    Pros
    1. The bike looks amazing and has a good road presence, especially in the green color.
    2. Quite powerful and punchy with excellent high-speed stability. There have been times when I've cruised constantly at speeds like 140 for straight 50-60kms
    3. The bike sounds amazing especially past 6000rpm
    4. Headlight throw is quite good
    5. Good service network
    Cons
    1. The bike is heavy and the low-speed maneuverability in traffic is tough especially for a new rider because the front end is quite heavy.
    2. The bike heats up quite a bit at low speeds but it's expected from the compression ratio of its engine
    3. Rear brakes are honestly very bad, especially for the bike's performance. It cant brake as good as it can accelerate
    4. Mileage can drop down significantly if you ride it fast. In cities, I get 26-27 if I ride nicely. If you ride it fast it will drop to 23-24
    5. It can be an eye-catcher increasing chances of theft and all so be careful with where you park it overnight and all, and I recommend riding carefully regardless of the bike but especially with these types.
    It's an amazing bike
But I think every bike is good, it's just if it's for you or not
As we riders say the rider should connect with the bike the first time he or she sits on it.

    3. Look & performance only says dominate another bike in this range...
    4. Servicing was worst by bajaj they already gain profit in sales and again they need profit in service. The maintenance was good.
    5. Good points ate more compare in this range. You cant afford dominar 400.

1 bajaj is trying its best to get to the heart of customers and I think they are succeeding because customers want a nice a homely attitude which bajaj always gives, so when we reach them to buy any bike, they guide us well according, not like just buy anything and give us money, they create a positive attraction towards their products.
2 it's a mixture of power and comfort blended together for the bike enthusiast, throttle response, brake bite, seat comfort for rider and pillion, high-speed cruising or low-speed city grunt, all the scenes make you a happy rider.
3 looks are a bit bulky and give the feel of a proper superbike, TFT's are good to go, tell every info which sometimes seems not adequate but are important. Its aide mirrors are known as the best quality in local markets. Easily convertible from sports look to adventure look and vice versa.
4 servicing and maintenance vary from rider to rider, but it's still pocket friendly. Parts are easily available, service easily available, and parts are durable and don't get easily blunted or damaged.
    5 pros
    handle durable, nimble rocket.
    cons
the second TFT should also be fitted on the
handle and get a colored TFT with navigation.

We did test out the new Dominar, although only for a bit, riding it around the twisties of Lonavala. Although, after hearing the experiences of the Odyssey riders, I wanted to ride the 2022 Dominar 400 more. So I headed for the vacation destination of India- Goa!

I know, it’s a bit odd. A power cruiser on a race track. The raked out front end, the upright seating, the low set footpegs, and the long wheelbase aren’t really virtues when it comes to going flat out corner after corner.
