1. irrespective of price point it is a very good bike and the behaviour of the staff at the showroom is also very decent and cooperative. If you buy it for daily commuting you will not be disappointed
2. the bike is a little bit high with a seat height of 810mm but believe me it feels like 830+ due to its wide seat it will be difficult for short riders to flat foot on the ground. But its ground clearance is not good it touches high bumps if you are riding with a healthy pillion.
It is very easy to ride in the city and on highways also
Its wide tyres give you extra confidence while cornering but it doesn't provide ABS in the rear disc brake so if you push it hard the rear wheel skids but it is manageable
Next, the turning radius of the bike is not so good. You need a large space to take a complete U-turn
The engine is butter smooth and there is zero vibration up to 80
It provides Bluetooth connectivity but it must be improved as it can't automatically connect with the mobile a maximum number of times
3. Looks are subjective but looks like a bigger cc bike and its muscular looks often attract people's attention
4. maintenance cost is affordable but the price of parts is a little bit higher side
5. conclusion
Pros-
@ Looks big.
@easy to ride and handle in traffic.
@ zero vibration.
@ good mileage around 50.
@ projector, head lamp is very good at night.
Cons-
@ not for short riders <5.6
@not good ground clearance
@ feels lack of power while overtaking

Better go for fzs and other models of fz rather thn fzx. Height problem. Single channel abs. Most important bulky even 150cc only. Better go for dual channel abs. It slips also . You can not ride confidently. Break pads were changed in 2nd free service only. Mileage is good no doubt but paid 2k in every free service. I don't if that's ohk amount or not

  • Good bike, expensive maintenance

    Ali Asgar Kb Wala

    1. Buying experience: I bought it during festival time and it felt like buying from a fish market. The salesperson had no time to explain the features or offer a trial ride but since I had researched it, I bought it anyways. Some accessories were missing which I got later from the showroom.
    2. Riding experience: It is a comfortable cruise ride and the engine is refined and smooth. You won't get tired soon. However, the shock ups are really hard and even slight bumps transfer the jerk to your spine. if you have spinal problems, you could consider this before buying. With a pillion rider, the jerks are substantially muted though.
    3. Looks, performance etc: With its novel neo-retro look, this bike is surely a head-turner. The engine is peppy and reliable. I have ridden it 200 km in a day without any overheating issues. The torque at the first gear is good but fizzles out in the middle and top gears at low speeds. In urban areas, you will need to change gears frequently.
    4. This is a tricky part. The service interval of 3000 km is short for a cruise bike. The first free service costs about Rs 1100 and progressively increases with each 'free service'. The paid service costs about 600 bucks more. It makes the overall maintenance relatively more expensive than premium bikes like the Harley Davidson X 440. Also, the service centers do not have enough space. In my case, Ratlam Motors in Indore is careless and unprofessional in handling under-service bikes. They park the bike on open street after the service where it is open to tempering by passer byes or street kids till you reach to pick it up.
    Pros
    - Great looks
    - Crispy and peppy engine, good sound
    - Relaxed ride
    Cons
    - Expensive maintenance
    - Hard shock ups, bad for spine
    - Unprofessional service centers

  • Dynamic error in seat width

    Deepak

Visited for a test ride in the nearest showroom. I found fuel tank width and seat width between the two legs are oversized. I found it difficult to move bikes in parking and in city traffic.. It is a dynamic error @Yamaha. Average height and weight people like me found uncomfortable due to the oversized fuel tank and seat design. This Deal breaker for now. Waiting for the updated model.

  • LOGICAL REVIEW : Cool bike from available Indian roster

    Punit

    1. The buying experience was quite similar with other brands, as companies have understood the fact that initial impressions go a long way with customers. Having said that, i had actually cancelled my advance booking amount for X440 Harley which was one of the best decisions i could have made.
    2. I owned a vespa for 3 years and sold it for a good price. After going for multiple test drives for different bikes, my priority being comfort, good road presence and pillion comfort for my better half, this was the best option, The most common impression and response people gave was "Why didn't you go for Royal Enfield/Ronin?", my answer was simple, a. It has reduced itself to common bike after offering EMI options and aggressive sales with most of them selling back to market for financial issues(check OLX) and b. the Total weight of the bike with full tank of fuel is above 200 kg which, my friend is hellish in hot, humid, polluted weather at a red light.
    3. It could have more power, which i only felt missing when i travelled to hill stations nearby, but in city, the opportunity to go beyond 60 km/hr + is rare, just like the times this bike will disappoint you in performance VERY RARE
    4. SERVICING IS EXPENSIVE. YAMAHA WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THE TECHNOLOGY THEY PROVIDE NOT AT THE PRODUCT PURCHASE BUT AT THE SERVICE CENTER. I can talk to any Yamaha representative and he will agree to this point 100%. For reference, its double of Hero. In my case, if it was just little more affordable i would have praised it.
    5. Must Buy for someone who is looking for :
    a. Comfort for driver and pillion : Good weight distribution & Straight seat
    b. Looks like cruiser but superb maneuvering in traffic
    c. no problem in paying extra for service
    d. Surely a head turner from daily bike rosters

Go to a service center for every issue, don't go to local mechanics. you will observe a price difference in both parts and service but it's worth it to go to the company service center.

  • Good bike with under powered engine

    Mahendra

Bought it from I Yamaha KR Puram Bangalore and it was a pleasant, quick buying experience.
My initial riding experience was so bad and at one point I thought to replace it with better expensive alternates. The bike pick-up was so bad compared to my previous FZS 2013 version. Compared to my old bike FZX has an excellent riding posture that doesn't affect my long-ride plans and that one thing stopped me from trying this bike further.
Post second servicing my riding experience has improved a lot, except for the pickup part. I have added a saddle box that can hold up to 15kg and the bike was handling the changes very well. Though the projector lamp is a good feature, still I had to add fog lights with a good throw.
By the end of six months, I had covered around 8.5KM on this bike which covers highways, Ghat roads, and dirt roads, and the bike is easy to handle on all of them. Not a good choice for any kind of off-road due to the very low-powered engine.
TCS and single ABS are providing a good handling compared to my old bike, breaking at high speeds is still manageable. once the bike exceeds 90 or 95 the bike vibrates badly and riding would be uncomfortable.

    1. Irrespective of price point it is a very good bike and the behaviour of the staff at the showroom is also very decent and cooperative. If you buy it for daily commuting you will not be disappointed
    2. The bike is a little bit high with a seat height of 810 mm but believe me it feels like 830+ due to its wide seat it will be difficult for short riders to flat foot on the ground. But its ground clearance is not good it touches high bumps if you are riding with a healthy pillion. It is very easy to ride in the city and on highways also. Its wide tires give you extra confidence while cornering but it doesn't provide ABS in the rear disc brake so if you push it hard the rear wheel skids but it is manageable. Next, the turning radius of the bike is not so good. You need a large space to take a complete U-turn. The engine is butter smooth and there is zero vibration up to 80. It provides Bluetooth connectivity but it must be improved as it can't automatically connect with the mobile a maximum number of times.
    3. Looks are subjective but looks like a bigger cc bike and its muscular looks often attract people's attention
    4. maintenance cost is affordable but the price of parts is a little bit higher side
    5. conclusion
    Pros-
    @ Looks big.
@ easy to ride and handle in traffic.
    @ zero vibration.
    @ good mileage around 50.
@ projector, headlamp is very good at night.
    Cons-

    @ not good ground clearance
@ feels lack of power while overtaking

    Cons-
@ not for short riders <5.6
    @ not good ground clearance
@ feels lack of power while overtaking

Waiting for the updated model.

irrespective of price point it is a very good bike and the behaviour of the staff at the showroom is also very decent and cooperative. If you buy it for daily commuting you will not be disappointed 2. the bike is a little bit high with a seat height of 810mm but believe me it feels like 830+ due to its wide seat it will be difficult for short riders to flat foot on the ground. But its ground clearance is not good it touches high bumps if you are riding with a healthy pillion. It is very easy to ride in the city and on highways also Its wide tyres give you extra confidence while cornering but it doesn't provide ABS in the rear disc brake so if you push it hard the rear wheel skids but it is manageable Next, the turning radius of the bike is not so good. You need a large space to take a complete U-turn The engine is butter smooth and there is zero vibration up to 80 It provides Bluetooth connectivity but it must be improved as it can't automatically connect with the mobile a maximum number of times 3. Looks are subjective but looks like a bigger cc bike and its muscular looks often attract people's attention 4. maintenance cost is affordable but the price of parts is a little bit higher side 5. conclusion Pros- @ Looks big. @easy to ride and handle in traffic. @ zero vibration. @ good mileage around 50. @ projector, head lamp is very good at night. Cons- @ not for short riders <5.6 @not good ground clearance @ feels lack of power while overtaking

  • Bulky for 150cc range

    Rajeev
