KTM has begun deliveries of its recently-launched flagship motorcycle, the 790 Duke, in India. The first unit was handed over to a customer named Dino Morea from Mumbai and images of the same have surfaced on social media.
KTM launched the 790 Duke in India last month with a price tag of Rs 8.63 lakhs (ex-showroom). As of now, the motorcycle is available only in nine major cities across India but the bike maker has affirmed that it will be introduced in over 30 cities in the coming days. The 790 Duke comes to our shores as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model and is assembled at Bajaj's Chakan facility in Pune. At the launch, a top KTM official had also clarified that despite the 790 Duke being a premium product, there won't be a dearth in its supply, if the demand rises in the future.
The 790 Duke is underpinned by a lightweight chromium molybdenum steel frame which holds a 799cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and churns out a staggering 105bhp of power and 86Nm of peak torque. To keep this power in check, the streetfighter features a plethora of electronic aids such as cornering ABS with Supermoto mode, lean-sensitive traction control, launch and wheelie control and four riding modes.
