Style it's the best point about the bike.Looks really sporty and thrills one.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox its pickup is not as good as expected.Fuel economy is average and gearbox is goo.

Ride quality & handling seats are not comfortable to give that good riding position. But when in top gears and in speed then handling is the best.

Final words its over all excellent choice.

Areas of improvement silencer need to be improved and seats to be made like one which gives more sporty position.

    Pros

    it's styling

    cons

    sound and seats

I owned this bike June 2017 , a terrible experience with this. Initially it has problems with the mask vibration. Same showed to arunagiri motors service station, they rectified temporarily. After 3rd service found issue with the front fork, after visiting service centre 3 times they changed the inner tubes. But after that again the mask vibration starts which is more than the initial time. I afraid to ride bcz it vibrating a lot. When i visited today (30.3.18) one of the engineer said this is common with the rtr180. If it is common issue, why tvs still manufacturing & selling this bike to the peoples. I paid nearly 1 lakh, now i has the feeling that it is useless & i shouldn't have gone to tvs showroom.

  • Few words about my bike apache rtr 180

    Navdeep Jain

I bought my apache on 1st jan,2017 for almost 90k. Originally it was a gift from my father. Before this i had a pulsar 180, so i am very much familiar with 180cc bike regarding it's pickup, fuel efficiency etc. The sales agency was very friendly so the buying experience was almost as perfect as it can be and they completed all their formalities. They gave various incentives also like 5 free services and a 5 year extended warranty on the bike engine. The riding experience of my bike is as smooth as it could be. The most attractive point which i found in the bike was it's aerodynamics, the maneuverability is awesome with which you can make some awesome cuts (overtaking a vehicle). The fuel efficiency should not be major consideration if you want to purchase this bike as the mileage given by the bike was between 35-40 kmph. You can only expect this for an almost racing bike. There only some cosmetic changes that were missing in the bike (as i said i had a pulsar) that were the backlit buttons and auto-off indicators. Apart from these the bike has an awesome look and feel to it. The performance of the bike is as promised by tvs. Now coming to service and maintenance; the cost for maintaining the bike is pretty nominal. The bike needs to be serviced after approximately 1.5-2 months. The service cost was roughly rs. 700-900 which included the tvs motors mobil oil, which any opinion is best oil for the bike and other things included in this are oil filter, chain oil, brake oil and labour (after free services). Summing up the above info i get to following pros and cons of the bike:Pros:- 1) aerodynamic design 2) great pickup 3) good fuel efficiency for an almost racing bike. 4) great riding experience 5) affordable cost of maintenance Cons:- 1) no backlit buttons 2) no auto-off turn indicators 3) better mileage in the same price segment. So that's my opinion on the tvs apache rtr 180. I hope it may be helpful for you to decide whether you want to buy the bike or not.

This is a good bike for daily commute. If i talk to about its mileage and comfort then it's ok not satisfactory. But it's handling and performance on highway and city is excellent. It's build quality and road presence (before 2017) was quite good. Arai certified mileage is 45km/l but gives me only 30km/.

  • Tvs apache rtr 180 long term ownership review

    Vishnu

I'm a proud owner of 2015 tvs apache rtr 180. Bought rtr 180 on emi best thing about tvs motors is their hassle free loan approval. I regard this as the best handling bike in sub 200 cc segment, seamless power delivery and precise throttle control give you enough confidence to ride through the city and let go in the highway. One thing about rtr180 is it's the most reliable bike I've ever ridden, no stalking in between rides. With led drl and a console that tells u pretty much every thing, personally i found the looks to be the perfect fit . Compared to competitors service and maintenance cost are the lowest on rtr180, parts are available at each showroom and local shops. Coming to the pros and cons

    Pros

    Precise throttle response

    Best in class handling

    Power starting from lower rpms

    Mileage of 40 kms

    Best exhaust note

    Cons

    Vibrations past 7000 rpm

Not stable going while over 120kmph

Engine heat up (using synthetic oil does help keeping the vibes and heat in control)

  • A bike you would dream of.!!

    Gaurav Tuntune

Talking about buying experience, it was as expected. Didn't face any much issues while buying. Riding on this one has been great fun let be it on a plain smooth road or even on the dirty road. Every ride has been great. Looks are far better that others. I've done servicing regularly and the response from tvs has been great. Always felt as if having a brand new bike after each servicing. Lots of pros which you'll only get to know after your test drive and nothing much to describe about the cons as there aren't many!

  • Rtr- inside out autobiography

    Anurag Sharma

Decision to buy this machine was easy after the first test ride & getting any colour was not an issue as everything was available without waiting. The first thing that struck my mind after riding this bike was "this is it!!! this is made for me!"Riding experience can't be shared in these pages as i will be completing lakh kms in near future & lots of memories are connected with my rides in different terrain.Anyone driving it once will admit about the fact that this machine is built to deliver performance. Rtr is a great bike within it's price range & similar engine segment. You can easily commute your daily needs of transport but giving a twist on throttle let's you know why it is named as rtr. A perfect balance according to Indian roads in all aspects, having a good margin for higher ground clearance adds to the benefit.I own this bike from almost 9 years. Driven it for almost 93k kms. And engine overhaul for 3 times, yes you read it right! i just had my full engine overhaul recently with every single part replaced inside my block. It depends on your riding habits & how you maintain your machine. Although parts cost & maintenance is not so high for a common man. Also, i had some bad experience with the company service centres. For which i had to suffer & end up with the final engine surgery. I have used my apache more as a tourer including daily commute. It is comfortable for long rides(driven for 25 hrs without sleep). Of course it was not possible just because the bike is comfortable but it also takes your will power to achieve the target.Everything in this world is not perfect & so is the case here. A more efficient performance could be drawn by using a fi system instead of carburettor for 180 model.Engine oil recommended grading is not sufficient for long rides as it lowers the level when driving continuously.Unwanted noise is encountered from the front cowl i have experienced in every apache. So these maybe some cons which i think are common with these range of two wheeler. The bike's a all-rounder, as you can race-tour-commute-off road(sometimes), etc. To end up we can simply say, you get a nice racing machine with this price tag which can stand apart from other bikes.

First i would like share my buying experience of my beast it was a hot day and i entered the showroom i looked for the old model and i bought my bike within 2 hours with ready cash payment after first service of my beast i was able to find the improvement in performance eventually in mileage also the best bike under 1 lakh each time i revive my engine it feels so embarrassing and also curious for riding good handling during dry ride quite thrill during wet ride after riding 1000 kms i reached 80 kms as top speed that too due to some urgent personal work but some are saying that above 6500 rpm vibration of engine breaks the bone but that's totally false statement when i reached 6500 rpm and above there was not any vibration it was as-usual seems like waiting to show more performance but wet land braking seems quite scary but not slippery and its old model look was very attractive when it is in white colour and also it is good in its growling sound from exhaust the service centre also gives good response for our queries.

    Rahul Kumar

  • Very good bike to daily commuter

    Rahul Kumar

I got this bike available in the choices colour on same day of purchased.

    2. Riding experience- i am using this for my daily commute to go for office around 60 kms/day including go and return.

I feels very smooth , comfortable, trendy look with sports style in headlight wiser.

It has 5 gears 1 front down and rest 4 are up back.

I use to offer one back seat to my colleague as well and we both feels comfortable as per seating and riding gives smoothness.

    3. Details of look and performance- as prescribed it has killer sports and trendy looks which gives an attention whenever rider pass on this bike.

It gives a crazy look with cool dude style.

Performance is also satisfactory on around 50km/liter as compared to other sports bike and rest is up to you how to drive efficiently.

    4. Servicing and maintaining- it has already offered 6 free services for 2 years and thereafter you not need to focus more on maintenance, since it has very strong and effectively accessories has attached to it.

    5. Pros and cons-

Pros :- 1. Stylish look in this budget no other can be compared with this.

    2. Less maintenance and services required.

    3. Cost efficiently in fuel as being sports look

    4. Wide range of colour choice available and best thing is no need to wait for colour choice at any authorised dealer .

    5. One of the best sports bike in this range.

Do check for engine oil level at every 5000kms. Get air filter replaced at every 35K. Spark plug replaced at 45K or before of faulty, but use TVS spark plugs as they are well designed for the bike instead of other known brands.

  • Beast review for rtrians

    Mugilan
