TVS Motors has been in the news of late, and for all the right reasons. We’ve ridden their Apache RR 310 and were at the launch of the funky Ntorq 125, and it seemed like TVS didn’t really have much planned for the Auto Expo as such. Not that we’re complaining, it gave us the opportunity to have a good look at the newest TVS products at their space at the Expo.
Along with the Ntorq125 and Apache RR 310 were the rest of the range in many different vibrant colours – we spotted a Victor with pleasing graphics and a Scooty Zest in an electric matte purple. Also on display was the entire Apache range, including the recently-launched ABS variant of the RTR 200.
The three concepts took centrestage, however. The least outlandish of the lot was an Apache RTR 200 FI that ran on Ethanol. While this might be a concept for India, some countries like Brazil are already running on a mixture of petrol and ethanol whose ethanol percentage is 85 per cent. There was a nod to the scooter segment, with an electric scooter called the Creon. This futuristic design is an electric scooter with a bunch of features. The company says that there are no plans to put it into production anytime soon. However, we’d like to point out that the Ntorq also was a concept at an Auto Expo a few years ago…
The final concept at the TVS stall is the Zeppelin power cruiser. While it may look like it should be at a custom motorcycle builders’ convention, the format is one that appeals to a wide audience, so we can expect a version of it to get to production soon.
