TVS Motor Company has announced the launch of a special variant of the Apache RTR 200 4V in the Colombian market. Christened as the Apache RTR 200 4V Special Edition Racing, this variant of the roadster-segment motorcycle benefits from additional equipment and a special livery to distinguish it from the standard model. What updates does the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Special Edition Racing get?

This variant of the Apache RTR 200 4V benefits from additional equipment that distinguishes it from the standard model. These include a flyscreen, hand guards, crash guards, a radiator protector, and a front disc brake calliper cover. Further, TVS Motor Company has added a new livery to this motorcycle. While the front fender, headlight mask, fuel tank cover, and engine cowl feature California Grey paint along with red highlights, the rear panel gets black paint along with red graphics. Notably, the design is similar to the standard model, and the Special Edition Racing variant retains a single-pod headlight, a body-coloured headlight mask, a muscular fuel tank, split-style seats, an engine cowl, and a side-slung exhaust.

What features does the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Special Edition Racing get?

The Special Edition Racing variant is based on the top-spec Apache RTR 200 4V. Thus, the motorcycle gets Bluetooth connectivity and Showa-sourced adjustable suspension. While the headlight and taillight are LEDs, the turn indicators are bulb-type units. Then, the instrument cluster includes a fully-digital LCD console.

What hardware does the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Special Edition Racing use?

The hardware, too, is identical to the standard model. Thus, the suspension setup includes telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a 270mm single disc with a two-piston calliper at the front and a 240mm single rotor with a single-piston calliper at the back. The 17-inch alloy wheels are shod in 90/90-section front and 130/70-section rear tubeless tyres.

The Colombian-spec TVS Apache RTR 200 4V uses a Euro3-compliant, 197.75cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine with a carburettor system instead of the fuel injection setup on the India-spec model. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, this engine delivers 20bhp of maximum power at 8,000rpm and 18.1Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm.
