KTM 390 Adventure X review: Image Gallery

About a week ago, we went riding the KTM’s most affordable 390 Adventure variant for a full day. It’s called the 'X' and is placed as an entry-level model in the brand's large-size ADV line and here’s what we think of it.

KTM 390 Adventure X Left Front Three Quarter

The 390 Adventure X is identical to its siblings. It features the same LED headlight topped by a transparent windscreen, is equipped with a large and muscular fuel tank, and gets a split seat setup too. Even the wide handlebar and the handlebar guards are the same as you see on the other 390 ADVs.

One of the areas where the 390 Adventure X differs is its features. To cut costs, KTM has equipped it with an LCD screen instead of a TFT and the bike misses out on cornering ABS, traction control, and quickshifter as well. However, during our entire duration with the 390 ADV X, we didn’t feel the need to use any of the aforementioned bits.

Apart from the use case, the 390 Adventure X costs almost Rs. 60,000 since the features list is comparatively shorter. This also adds to the intent of purchasing the base model over others.

KTM 390 Adventure X Engine From Right

KTM has also used the same 373.3cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine in the 390 Adventure X. It dishes out 42.9bhp at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox and benefits from a slipper clutch.

Overall, the engine tune and response are unchanged. So, the power delivery, torque spread and the overall nature of the short revving motor are the same as all the other 390 Adventure trims.

KTM 390 Adventure X Rear View

It rides on USD front forks from WP and a monoshock at the rear. Even the 320mm single disc at the front and a 230mm single rotor at the rear have been carried over to the X variant.

But should you spend Rs. 2.80 lakh and buy the KTM 390 Adventure X? Read our full review to find your answers.
