Hero MotoCorp is offering special schemes on its two-wheeler range in an attempt to clear old BS III stocks.
With the Supreme Court banning sales of non-BS IV vehicles in the country from April 1, 2017, several manufacturers have been offering special schemes on older BS III models. Hero has announced a discount of Rs 12,500 for its scooter range, Rs 7,500 for premium bikes and Rs 5,000 for mass-market motorcycles. Apart from the cash discount, Hero is also offering free insurance for the two-wheelers. Reports suggest that the manufacturer will absorb the cash discount, while the cost of insurance will be borne by the dealers. However, and here’s the catch, the offer is valid only for today.
Several Hero dealerships seem to have already cleared old stocks and the offer is available only at select dealerships. Other manufacturers like Honda, TVS, Mahindra and Bajaj have also announced discounts for customers buying a two-wheeler before March 31.
