Suzuki Motorcycle India has announced dates for the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer Cup. Now in the fifth edition, the season will comprise of four rounds, starting from July and will conclude in November. The first round will be held on 27 July at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. The race will be organised under the sponsorship of FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) and Federation of Motorsports Club of India (FMSCI) and in association with JK Tyre Motorsports.
The fifth season of the Gixxer Cup 2019 will continue to have two categories, first being the JK Tyre Suzuki Gixxer Cup 2019 and the Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup 2019. While the former is for riders of 17 years and above, the latter for riders aged between 12 and 16 years. The selection process was held on 22 July at Kari Motor Speedway. The final selection comprised of 28 riders for the Gixxer Cup and five for the Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup.
Before the start of the season, the finalised riders will receive a three-day technical training session, which again, will be held at Kari Motor Speedway. During this session, riders will receive theory and on track riding experience under expert guidance. The training session will allow the riders to be prepared and get acquainted with the bikes before the start of the season.
Of the four rounds, three will be held at Kari Motor Speedway while the final round will be held at Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.
