The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 are likely to be offered with alloy wheels as an official accessory.
The bikes currently come equipped with spoke wheels as standard. However, the alloy wheels will enable the Interceptor 650 and GT 650 to ride on tubeless tyres in place of the standard tube tyres. Royal Enfield recently introduced alloy wheels for the Classic, Bullet and Thunderbird range and priced them at Rs 10,000. We expect the wheels for the Interceptor 650 and GT650 to cost the same.
Beside the alloy wheels, Royal Enfield is also likely to offer auxiliary lights as an option. The lights are expected to cost around Rs 4,000 for a pair and help in increasing the bike's touring capabilities. Since both accessories will be officially sold be Royal Enfield they will not void the motorcycle's warranty. In fact, they could also come with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty like the other accessories.
We expect Royal Enfield to retail the alloy wheels and auxiliary lights through their online store and through showrooms across India in the coming weeks.
