Suzuki has revealed the pricing of its upcoming modern-retro motorcycle, the Katana, in the UK. The bike has been priced at £11,399 which translates to Rs 10.42 lakhs in Indian currency. Additionally, the company has also announced the Samurai Accessory pack for £999 (Rs 9,392) which consists of optional accessories designed for the Katana. It will arrive at dealerships in the UK by the end of April while it is also expected to arrive in the Indian market in the near future.
The new Suzuki Katana harks back to the 1981 Katana and boasts of several design cues inspired from the older model. It gets a square-shaped headlamp with a small visor on top. This is flanked by a sharp bikini fairing which blends into the chiselled fuel tank and angular side panels, all of which end into a minimalistic tail section. Notably, the bold Suzuki badging on the fuel tank is similar to that on the 1981 Katana.
While the design is inspired from the older Katana, underneath, it’s a proper modern machine sharing its underpinnings with the Suzuki GSX-S1000. It is powered by a 999cc, in-line four cylinder motor that produces 145bhp and 106Nm. On the feature-front, it comes equipped with an LCD instrument cluster, three-level switchable traction control, slipper clutch and dual-channel ABS. Coming to the cycle parts, the motorcycle incorporates 43mm fully-adjustable upside-down forks for the front along with a link-type monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by twin discs with Brembo radial calipers on the front and a single disc at the rear.
