5 differences between Yamaha Fazer 25 and FZ25

Yamaha claims that their latest launch, the Fazer 25 is a sports tourer. It has been developed to meet the growing needs of India’s youth who wants to travel and go exploring. While both the bikes, the Fazer 25 and the FZ25 are identical, there are a few additions that differentiates this new Yamaha from the FZ25.

1: Addition of fairing

Touring needs better wind flow and protection. To achieve that, the Fazer 25 gets a bulky fairing that goes all the way down to the crankcase cover. There is decent amount of creases on it and that will result in better air flow.

2: Dual horns

The Fazer 25 is equipped with not just one, but two horns. While this isn’t really a major addition, but it is definitely going to make the rider’s life easy in country’s growing traffic.

3: Increased weight

Addition of fairing means, the overall kerb weight has gone up. The Fazer 25 weighs 154kg, whereas the FZ25 tips the scale at 148kg. So there’s a weight increase of 6kg on the Fazer 25. Interestingly, Yamaha hasn’t retuned the engine or played with the gear ratios to accommodate this extra weight.

4: Dual LED lights

One of the coolest features of the Fazer 25, the dual LED lights. It is placed around the LED headlamp. In fact, the Fazer 25 also sports LED tail lamp. If Yamaha managed to give the Fazer 25 LED turn indicators too, then the Japanese manufacturer would’ve had a great marketing advantage.

5: Price

The Indian market is a price-sensitive one. Selling a motorcycle with some cool features is good, but if it isn’t offered at the right price, the product can see its end very soon. With the Fazer 25, that’s not the case. Yamaha is asking Rs 10,000 more over the naked bike, which we think is a good bargain. However, addition of ABS unit would have been appreciable.
