Do a test ride and then decide mist be considered between Dominar 400 and Himalayan 400 amazing pillion and rider comfort Fairly priced servicing Brakes are superb It does feel underpowered but if you compare with Himalayan it has liquid cooling, super smooth engine and better seat comfort, Only issue is service center far from my home (35km's).

Superb engine Made for Indian road conditions, Low to mid end torque is amazing on this bike Has 350w alternator for using powerful aux lights and other accessories Highly underrated bike Mileage close to 35-38 if you ride sanely Service centers are few but they are great Mahindra should change the console and front headlight design rest all is good Exhaust is nice too and you can remove the db. killer for even bossy sound (not recommended for long rides).

Hello all, i was in the market for a new motorcycle as my 2007 hero honda cbz xtreme was nearing its retirement. Having ridden it predominantly in bangalore city traffic and occasional long rides, i wanted a bike that was more powerful, comfortable and which could cruise smoothly and without any stress on highways with pillion/luggage. Cruisers and adv's are not my style so dropped the re bikes, though i test rode the himalayan and felt it was good but all the previous horror stories from its owners did not give my any confidence to put my money on it. I test rode the apache 200 rtr, suzuki gixxer 250, ktm duke 250 and even bajaj dominar 400 but found them not comfortable and by the looks of all the plastics used and the vibes felt during the short test rides, i felt they may not last 50k kms. For me, the built quality and comfort of the bike is mattered more than outright speed/performance as i intended to use the bike for atleast 10 years. I then test rode the mahindra mojo 300 abs and i immediately felt a connection with the bike. It felt so solid with superior built quality. The smooth engine, comfortable posture and that linear power & pickup was something that no other bikes that i test rode could match. It was a great feeling and the bike gave me a lot of confidence. I immediately booked the bike and its been an awesome riding experience in the last 9 months now, though due to pandemic i have not been able to do a lot of long distance tours but will certainly enjoy my mojo next year.

Looks - hit or miss, Either you go love it or you go hate it, but you just can not ignore it. The presence is amazing and is surely a head-turner. Engine - absolutely smooth and refined. Has loads of power and torque. It's not a street-bike engine, but has a sport-touring capability in terms of pick-up, acceleration and top speed.
Riding posture - very comfortable for long rides. Handling - 3/5 for the old version. 4/5 for the current version. Turning radius is bit high, and you can only lean if you are friendly with the physics of the bike. Exhaust note - 5/5, surely makes people crazy.
Service experience - spares cost is slightly on the higher side. Service centers are available only in few cities across India. But the bike requires little maintenance. Also, overall service is economic. Ownership experience - 4.5/5

I was looking for a new bike that i could use for at least 10 yrs, so the bike build quality / reliability was my first criteria, followed by comfort for long distance touring and powerful, torquey engine.
Test ride before finalizing:- i test rode the following bikes - apache 200 rtr, Himalayan, duke 200, gixxer 250, xpulse 200, dominar 400 and Mahindra mojo. Here is the reason why I think mahindra mojo is better than all these other bikes. (I purchased mojo bs4 abs model in march 2020).
1No doubt mahindra mojo is less in power when compared to dominar 400, but mojo’s overall build quality, engine refinement and comfort is simply a notch above. I have ridden my bike for more than 10,000 kms now and even now the bike still looks and feels brand new. No suspension squeaks, or from brakes etc, no vibrating plastics (due to maximum metal parts used) while riding.
2The engine in mojo is butter smooth, very torquey and also free revving. At 4k rpm the bike hits 70kms and 6k rpm it will easily cross 110 kms. Since the bike has 6 gears I can effortlessly cruise and also get decent mileage or around 33 – 35 km/l. The petrol tank is also full metal (21 litres).
    3) The front fork is now telescopic from the earlier usd but it is very sturdy plus comes with fork braces which i have not seen in any other bikes. I have gone over potholes at 80kms speed and the bike did not wobble and was very stable. Mojo has a unique rear suspension setup. The rear mono-shock is actually positioned slightly towards the left side (off-set like is some premium sport bikes). And most other bikes which have 5 or 6 stage setting, but mojo’s rear suspension has infinite adjustment as per your liking.
    4) Also, mojo’s chassis is double tubular frame type, hence the bike is solid like a rock. The exhaust sound from the single stainless steel stock silencer is just music to ears. It along with the twin pod headlight setup is a head turner for sure
    5) The bike seat is also very comfortable for both rider and pillion. The handle bar is also raised a bit and wide. The foot pegs are positioned in such a way that when you sit on the bike, your back is straight and your legs are neither bent back or stretched forward. It is a perfect rider triangle, which is very much required if you have back issues or want to ride for long distance. I have done 200+ kms non-stop on Bangalore-Hassan highway without any discomfort. I have now also started using the bike to commute to office and riding on the ring road is so much better.
    6) Mahindra mojo also organizes regular free check-up / service camps. Spare parts are also not very costly and so is the service cost. Recommended oil change interval is 5k kms (1.25 litres) which is very decent for a 295cc engine. Air filter, oil filter, brake pads, chain & sprocket are very affordable.
7)The mojo tribe members are very knowledgeable, and even the showroom dealers as well as service representatives are very supportive. Mahindra mojo also organizes their annual anniversary rides for fellow riders to ride together, meet and have a good time. This experience is very important and honestly only brands selling bigger motorcycles offer these for their customers.
On the negative side, i wish the light throw would have been better from the twin-pod headlight setup. I have upgraded the bulbs to higher wattage and it has solved this issue. Some of the riders have installed aux light / fog lamps to increase the night visibility.
To conclude, what i suggest is you need to see the mojo in-person to feel its strong built quality, fit and finish. Also you must take it on a test ride to experience the comfort it offers and its refined, torquey engine. It really is a far superior motorcycle than any other in this price segment (between 2.5l - 2.7l onroad). It makes you feel as the owner of a premium motorbike with a unique charm and also gives you that commanding road presence.

It's been almost 4 years i bought bs4 mojo with two exhaust. Always enjoy riding in city and highways. Although i am not a regular rider but used to ride with in city weekly and long distance yearly. I have tried other bikes last week with one of my friend and to my surprise i have a beast bike.
