I’ve been using the Honda Shine 125, and it’s a solid commuter bike if you care about mileage and a smooth engine more than anything else. The pickup is decent for city traffic, and the 5-speed gearbox makes daily rides easier. Mileage stays around the mid-50s, which is the real advantage.
The downside is that the bike feels too basic. The features are outdated, the headlamp isn’t impressive, and the overall design looks plain compared to newer 125cc options. Suspension is average, and you definitely feel rough patches on bad roads.
Overall, it’s a reliable, no-drama bike for daily commuting, but not something you pick for performance, style, or features. It does the job—nothing more, nothing less.

On a regular basis, my Shine returns around 55 kmpl, which makes it a great choice for daily city commuting. The drum brakes, though basic, perform efficiently for normal day-to-day riding conditions.
In terms of comfort, the seating is well-cushioned and suitable for longer rides without causing fatigue. The suspension setup handles potholes and uneven roads quite well, which is essential for Indian roads. The overall build quality is solid, and even after years of usage, the bike still feels stable and durable.
Maintenance costs are low, and Honda’s service network adds to the hassle-free ownership experience. Overall, the 2021 Honda Shine Drum Model is a dependable, fuel-efficient, and value-for-money motorcycle that perfectly suits everyday riders.
