I bought my bike on my 21st birthday with alot of hopes and curiosity..Showroom helped me to get finance easily and make every thing possible very easily...Then i got my bike,it was "royal enfield 500 squadron blue" i don't feel it was a regular bike..It was a beast actually..Every thing goes well on first 500kms..Then it showed its true nature..My silencer got yellow marks near filters..I contacted the showroom they said we will get back to u with in a week with a mew silencer..I waited for one week i didn't get any response from them..I waited another week still i didn't get response..Then i called them..They said it will take one month..Again i called them after one month still no response..Then i talked a little bit harsh towards them then they got a stock silencer from godown and showed me that's its not fitting and make me to wait one more month..Then they had changed after one month..Initially i am very happy..But after a week again it started turning yellow..I called show room they didn't even respond to my call.I mailed to head office regarding my problem..Showroom manager called me and asked about the problem..He said i will help u regarding that..Please take complaint back he asked me..With in a seconds he send me a letter through mail..He made me to fill all the details mentioning that repair has done it was my problem that writing email to you..My bike is still with me i didn't even take it to the showroom..Still i did it for dealer..Then i had given my bike to manager he kept my bike in service centre for a week and returned without even washing the bike..I taught the problem was solved but know it was started changing yellow again..Now i tried to call them but they didn't respond i got fed and i started using in that way only For a bike that costs nearly 2.10l has a poor customer service..I don't know what re is doing..Worst experience!!The bike has 2,3 paint scratches still i accepted it..Slowly with in a month it started changing colour..Poor and quality less painting!!For a engine like 500,braking system should be good and it should have atleast rear disc..It doesn't have abs too Worst braking system!!Engines get heated very fastly, trust me you can even make omelette on engine..Heavy heating problem..On a whole it doesn't worth of 2.10 lakh but only thing you will get is a awesome feeling for riding..It covers every problem that bike actually has!!Pros-Feel,Comfort.Cons-Poor and worst customer service Quality less paintings Braking system Efi Mileage Parts of bike are not made with quality...Everything other than feel are cons in bike..Hope re gets corrected their mistake in coming bikes..Thank you.

Re classic 500 squadron blue honest review

Feroz Ahmed

I am writing a review for my royal enfield classic 500 squadron blue. Below is my experience:

1. Buying experience: i bought this bike in april 2016 and luckily i didn't have to wait. I got this bike on a ready delivery. The buying experience was zip zap zoom. I loved the way i was treated while purchasing the bike. Soni automobiles (delhi) is the place from where i bought it.

2. Riding experience: i bought this bike only for tour purposes and have successfully completed leh/ladakh ride (riders heaven) and spiti valley on it. The performed as it should and didn't had any difficulties with respect to power or performance. In ladakh we rode for over 3000kms (to and fro) and similar to spiti valley. I didn't regret purchasing this bike.

3. Looks, performance: classy looks, i must say and with blue color it really stands out of the crowd. I think it was my best choice to buy this in blue color. I wanted the desert storm however after seeing this, i made up my mind to get squadron blue only. Performance on this is also very good, few hiccups here and there. But hey this is enfiled you really cannot complain about this. I felt like the king of the roads.

4. Servicing & maintenance: i get my beast serviced regularly as per the schedule, had some issues with service center guys on a couple of occasions, however, got that fixed after a formal complaint to enfield. They really take complaint very seriously. I somehow feel the service charge is on the upper side at inr 750 + oil + any other parts. We get 4 services free of charge and the bill doesn't go above 1000. But after free service, you pay more than 2000 every time.

5 pros:

Good riding experience.

Good performance

Good mileage (around 30kmpl highway)

Sticky on dry roads but not good for rainy weather

Good for commuting and travel purposes.

Cons:

Tyres skid a lot difficult to handle an emergency situation.

Lot of vibration on handle bars

Oil leaks from almost every part near the engine and no way to fix them too.

Expensive service charge and parts.

No tubeless tyres, a big drawback. (have to spend on alloys and tyres - around 10000)

No crash-guard pre-installed (have to spend another 2000 for this)

Horn is an issue, within 6 months one or both horns will be worn out and no longer function. You need new horns.

No drl (daytime running led's)

No abs

No rear disc

The buying of the bike went on smooth. There may be a delay in delivery depending on the availability. The riding experience is good. Most of royal enfield lovers buy it for the looks. Performance is good with all factory parts. I have a friend who bought the same bike and changed the silencer, which the bike gives a mileage of 15km. My bike gives me around 25km . If you concerned about mileage opt for 350cc. The maintenance is costly compared to other motor cycles. Pros are like good seating, royal and stylish look,500cc engine.

Cons :

No abs
