Suzuki to revive Katana moniker with turbocharged bike

Suzuki has filed patent applications for the Katana name and logo. The manufacturer could be looking to revive the iconic moniker along with a new upcoming motorcycle.

Now, the patents specify that this name is for ‘Motorcycles and the parts and fittings thereof’. But, considering all rumours in the past, the name is likely to be used for the production version of the Recursion concept that sported styling cues, inspired by the Katana. 

We can expect Suzuki to unveil the production version of the bike at the 2018 Tokyo Motor Show with production beginning in 2019. However, it is highly unlikely that the motorcycle will arrive in India anytime in the near future.
