BMW Motorrad has updated its Chinese portfolio with the launch of the F850GS adventure tourer. The motorcycle was launched in the country at 1,38,900 yuan (Rs 15.77 lakh) for the Metal Racing Blue colour option. BMW Motorrad has also introduced the ‘40 Years GS’ Edition in the Chinese market at 140,900 yuan (about Rs 16 lakh).
The feature list and styling is identical to the F850GS that was sold in India. Thus, the middleweight adventure tourer uses full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, semi-fairing design, an adjustable windscreen, a 15-litre fuel tank, a tall-set exhaust canister, and tubeless-tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels.
The feature list also comprises selectable riding modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic, Enduro, and Enduro Pro), an electronically adjustable rear mono-shock, cornering ABS, and traction control system. The suspension tasks at the front are performed by upside-down front forks.
Mechanical specifications include an 853cc, parallel-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 79bhp at 6,250rpm and 90Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed transmission. The motorcycle complies with the China-IV emission standards. The braking setup includes twin rotors at the front and a single disc at the back.
