- Could be a production-ready bike
- Features knobby tyres, upswept exhaust and tail rack
- Should be priced around Rs 1.5 lakhs (ex-showroom)
While the motorcycle looks ready to hit the roads, it is not clear whether it is a legit production model or just a custom job. The scrambler is based on the same platform as the Classic and sports the same side panels, engine and the seat. However, it gets a luggage rack in place of the pillion seat, the exhaust is upswept and it rides on knobby tyres. The handlebar is raised and gets a cross-brace. The Classic engine is an air-cooled single-cooled unit available in two displacements – 349cc and 499cc. We expect the scrambler to be offered in both these guises.
When photos of the Thunderbird X models had surfaced a few weeks before the launch, they were put aside as dealer-level modifications. However, it turned out to be an actual production bike. And while this photo and the idea of a scrambler variant of the Classic 350 might not seem plausible right now, there are chances that it might actually go on sale in the next few weeks. In case that does happen, the scrambler version of the Classic 350 could be priced at Rs 1.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
