The Suzuki Bandit 1250 SA is a sports tourer which was launched back in India along with the GSX-R1000 in 2010. It has been designed with emphasis on comfortable touring rather than taking corners at high speeds, though it can do both with equal ease. The semi-fairing with the large headlamps gives this motorcycle its unique identity in the world of litre-plus motorcycles.
The Bandit 1250SA has a very simple design when compared to the other expensive motorcycles in the market. The semi-fairing and the fuel-tank might make it resemble the Karizma and Pulsar, but the Bandit is the bike which set the standards in the industry for such styling.
The Bandit 1250SA is built around a classic tube-frame chassis and is powered by a four-stroke fuel-injected 1255c inline-four engine. The oil-cooled engine churns out 98bhp and 110Nm of torque and is mated to six-speed gearbox with a hydraulic clutch. The engine has been coupled with a secondary balancer shaft which results in reduces vibration and a smoother ride.
Considering the size of the engine, the Bandit 1250SA has a smooth and controllable power delivery. The suspension of the motorcycle has been optimised for comfort rather than handling and is equally usable in cities and on highways. The Bandit 1250SA is equipped with ABS and seat height adjustment for the step up seats among others.
