Honda SP 125 Review: 25,000 km and Still Going Strong
Buying Experience:
The Honda SP 125 is a popular choice, so finding one at a dealership shouldn't be difficult. Honda dealerships are known for their efficient service, making the buying process relatively smooth.
Riding Experience (25,000 km):
After 25,000 km, you can expect the SP 125 to deliver a comfortable and reliable ride. The engine should be nicely settled in, offering smooth gear shifts and a refined feel. With a claimed mileage of 70 kmpl (which may vary depending on riding style and conditions), you'll likely be impressed with the fuel efficiency.
Looks, Performance, and Build (25,000 km):
The SP 125 boasts a sporty design with sharp lines and a muscular stance. While not a powerhouse, the 125cc engine provides enough pep for city traffic and comfortable cruising on highways at moderate speeds. The build quality is known for being excellent, and with regular servicing, the SP 125 should hold up well for many years. However, some riders with extensive mileage might experience minor niggles like vibrations or slight rattles, which can usually be addressed during servicing.
Servicing and Maintenance (25,000 km):
Honda has a widespread service network, ensuring easy access to service centers and genuine spare parts. Regular servicing is crucial for maintaining performance and fuel efficiency. With 25,000 km on the odometer, you might need to consider replacing wear-and-tear items like brake pads, chain, or tires.
Pros (25,000 km Perspective):
Excellent Mileage: The SP 125 is known for its impressive fuel economy, especially if you maintain a steady riding style. This translates to significant fuel cost savings over 25,000 km.
Reliable Engine: Honda engines are renowned for their reliability, and the SP 125 should be no exception. With proper maintenance, you can expect a trouble-free ride for many years.
Low Maintenance Costs: Regular servicing is important, but the SP 125 is known for being relatively inexpensive to maintain.
Comfortable Ride: The SP 125 offers a comfortable riding position, suitable for both city commutes and longer rides (with potential adjustments for seat comfort after extensive mileage).
Cons (25,000 km Perspective):
Limited Power: While sufficient for city riding, the 125cc engine might feel underpowered for highway cruising, especially with a pillion rider or cargo.
Not for Tall Riders: Some taller riders might find the SP 125 a bit cramped, especially after long rides.
Potential for Niggles: With high mileage, you might experience minor issues like vibrations or rattles. These can usually be addressed during servicing.
Overall:
The Honda SP 125 is a compelling choice for riders seeking a fuel-efficient, reliable, and comfortable motorcycle for everyday commuting. Having clocked 25,000 km, it should continue to serve you well with proper maintenance. However, if you crave high power or are a very tall rider, you might want to consider other options.

Tips for Honda SP 125

Honda SP 125 Maintenance Tips: Keep Your Ride Running Smooth :- Following these tips will help ensure your Honda SP 125 runs smoothly and delivers optimal performance for miles to come: General Maintenance: Regular Servicing: Stick to the recommended service intervals outlined in your owner's manual. This typically involves oil changes, filter replacements, and a general check-up by a qualified mechanic. Chain Care: Regularly clean, lubricate, and adjust your chain according to the manual's instructions. A neglected chain can lead to reduced performance, increased wear on sprockets, and even breakage. Tire Care: Maintain proper tire pressure as recommended in the manual. Visually inspect tires for wear and tear, and replace them when the tread depth reaches the wear limit. Brakes: Regularly check brake pads for wear and have them replaced when necessary. Ensure proper brake fluid level and condition. Additional Tips: Warm Up: Before hitting the road, allow the engine to warm up for a minute or two, especially during cold mornings. Riding Style: Avoid harsh acceleration, sudden braking, and engine revving for extended periods. A smooth and consistent riding style will prolong the engine's life. Storage: If storing your SP 125 for an extended period, disconnect the battery, fill the fuel tank to minimize air space (preventing rust), and inflate the tires to recommended pressure. Cleaning: Regularly wash your SP 125 to remove dirt and grime. Pay attention to the chain and sprockets during cleaning. Remember: Consult your owner's manual for specific service intervals and maintenance procedures. If you're uncomfortable performing any maintenance tasks yourself, take your SP 125 to a qualified mechanic. By following these tips, you can ensure your Honda SP 125 continues to be a reliable and enjoyable companion for your rides.

    Tips for other riders

Certainly! Here are some maintenance tips that I've found useful while owning and riding this bike: 1. Regular Inspection: Make it a habit to visually inspect your bike before each ride. Check for any signs of damage, loose bolts, or leaks. Pay attention to the tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels. 2. Keep it Clean: Regularly wash your bike to remove dirt, grime, and road salt, especially after riding in adverse conditions. Cleanliness not only improves the bike's appearance but also helps prevent corrosion and rust. 3. Lubrication: Keep moving parts well-lubricated to reduce friction and wear. Apply lubricant to the chain, cables, pivot points, and other components as recommended by the manufacturer. 4. Tire Maintenance: Check tire pressure regularly and maintain it at the recommended level. Inspect the tires for signs of wear, cuts, or punctures. Replace worn-out tires promptly to ensure safety on the road. 5. Brake Care: Inspect the brake pads and discs regularly for wear. Replace them if they are worn down or damaged. Bleed the brake system periodically to remove air bubbles and maintain optimal braking performance. 6. Battery Health: Keep the battery terminals clean and free of corrosion. Check the battery voltage regularly and recharge or replace it as needed. Store the bike in a cool, dry place during periods of non-use to prolong battery life. 7. Fluid Checks: Regularly check the levels of engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and other essential fluids. Top up or replace fluids as necessary according to the manufacturer's recommendations. 8. Scheduled Servicing: Follow the manufacturer's recommended service schedule for routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups. Regular servicing helps keep the bike running smoothly and identifies any potential issues early on. By following these maintenance tips diligently, you can keep your bike in top condition and enjoy safe and trouble-free rides for years to come.

The buying process was easy and good. I got this bike for 100800 which is a pretty good price. The riding experience is awesome. Feels like I am riding a sports bike. Also for such a bike mileage is awesome. A thumbs-up to Honda for this amazing work. The Matt black color option is good but sadly I got the green color as black was not available at that time.

    Jithin Peter

Owning a Honda SP 125 for over six months now has been largely reassuring. Its best feature has to be the fuel efficiency which stands out at approximately 65 kmpl, aided by Honda's Eco Technology (HET). The fully digital instrument cluster which includes real-time fuel efficiency, adds a technical touch. However, the Honda SP 125 is not without its issues. The suspension setup is on the stiffer side, resulting in a less comfortable ride on uneven roads. Additionally, the bike's overall design while sleek, might not appeal to everyone looking a bit too conservative for younger riders

I was worried about buying the bike but it's very easy at the showroom.
The bike ran very smoothly yet I didn't notice any difficulty in riding it. The mileage is also very good and the display features you will see there is a mileage meter. It's looks also awesome. And nothing disappointed me. Everything has satisfied me. For me, I was value for money.

Service the bike from time to time to maintain its smoothness and never run at very speed because it consumes more oil than.

Best for family and daily commuting good price and is easy to afford best part is a reliable engine and gives a good speed in every condition except the rainy season cause. Very good mileage and comfortable drive, comfortable for long drive. Nice looking and nice modal feature or comfortable clutch.

  • Best bike premium look sport look

    Arjunsinh

Best bike, with a premium look with the best average, I recommend purchasing this bike. I'm so happy and feel good with this bike. I feel good with city and highway rides and giving the best average, all buddies say bikes look best and best. If possible bike's rear tire needs a little bit of wide tire so it will look hulk and strong thank you

  • Problem while shifting gears

    Mayank

The nice sporty look of the bike average is also great with low maintenance cost and easy handle bike runs smoothly and the best part is the speedometer which gives u great info regarding range and average
The major problem with the bike is that the gears are not shifting smoothly They need to give some jerk and the mirrors are not great too.
