The Harley-Davidson V-Rod was first launched in 2009. When launched, the motorcycle was considered quite an important model as it featured a liquid-cooled engine instead of the typical air-cooled engines that were used in all others Harleys during the time.
Designed to make an imposing presence but with modern looks and respectable performance, this bike is stands out in the classis Harley line up. It gets a fastback style tail section, a fat rear tyre , low-rise handle bar, double-barrel exhaust and a blacked out look overall.
Power comes courtesy the 1250cc V-Twin engine which puts out around 120bhp and 111Nm of torque, giving the rider plenty of grunt on the road. Weighing nearly 300 kilograms, the V-Rod is quite hefty for its size although Harley-Davidson promises stable and reassuring handling thanks to the log wheelbase and fat rubber tyres both at front and the rear.
The V-Rod competes against the recently introduced Triumph Thunderbird Storm and the Rocket 3 Roadster.

Harley-Davidson V Rod

The Harley-Davidson V-Rod is one of the most unique motorcycles Harley has ever built. Unlike the traditional Harley cruisers that focus on laid-back torque and old-school styling, the V-Rod blends American muscle with European engineering. Co-developed with Porsche, its 1,130cc liquid-cooled Revolution engine (later upgraded to 1,250cc) produces around 115–125 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful Harleys of its era. The engine revs higher than typical Harley motors, offering strong acceleration and an exciting top-end surge that riders usually don’t expect from a cruiser. On the road, the V-Rod feels planted and aggressive. Its long wheelbase, wide rear tyre, and low-slung design give it excellent straight-line stability, though it does compromise some agility in tight corners. The forward-set foot controls and drag-style handlebars provide a stretched-out riding posture, which looks intimidating but can be slightly uncomfortable for longer rides. Suspension is firm, and the bike feels more like a power cruiser than a touring machine.Design is where the V-Rod truly shines. The sculpted fuel tank (actually under the seat, with the airbox cover where the tank usually sits), exposed frame, and muscular stance make it stand out instantly. It doesn’t just look like a Harley; it looks like a custom drag bike straight from the factory. The chrome accents, fat rear wheel, and sleek profile scream performance and attitude. In terms of practicality, fuel economy is modest, and storage is almost nonexistent. But the V-Rod was never about utility—it’s about style, speed, and shock factor.Overall, the Harley-Davidson V-Rod is a bold experiment that combines Harley heritage with modern performance. It’s perfect for riders who want Harley’s presence but with a sportier edge. While discontinued in 2017, it remains a cult favourite and a head-turner on any road.

Harley- best comforts and riding experience in my life
1 year ago
Devvrat Kumar
It was the best ever experience to buy or ride this bike because it gives you the best ever comforts of riding as compared to any other bike. It has the best features, looks, and the best performance. It's quite hard to service but not so. This bike has a lot of pros and no cons except the servicing and maintenance. So I prefer it to buy and feel the best comforts.

The most handsome bike, I have ever seen. Look is very masculine. Everybody will fall in love with the looks. Mileage is pretty good in its class. This bike is definitely owner's pride and other's envy. The rear wheel is wow so big, much best in its class. Riding experience is very comfortable. One must own this bike atleast in their dream

I absolutely love this bike and truly own a collectors item, now that hd motorcycles has stopped producing this beast. I have clocked only 1100 kms. You are right, i have barely used the bike as i have always been travelling and hence decided to part ways with this incredible machine.
