Introduction

BMC Air Filters is already a well-known name in racing circles. It was the official partner of the Yamaha MotoGP team. So, in that sense, it is VR46 approved. And, not just that, it has been a part of the winning teams at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Formula 1, WRC and many more.

But, BMC doesn’t just do race-stuff.

The company also makes stock replacement filters for a number of two-wheelers models in India. And, these stock replacement filters come with a ‘forever’ promise. Here’s why…

The Construction

Every BMC air filter is made up of many layers of oil soaked cotton. It is then maintained inside thin aluminium netting. All of this is held together by a plastic frame which is, of course, different for each two-wheeler.

The Working

Now, stock OE filters use either foam or paper as trappings. BMC filters use oil soaked cotton and metal netting instead. And this not only allows for freer air flow (and with it better combustion), but BMC claims these guarantee higher degree of filtering efficiency as well.

The Forever Promise

BMC also claims that if maintained properly, its air filters can last through the lifetime of a two-wheeler. And that’s because, unlike foam and paper elements, the cotton in these filters can be regenerated and reused. All it takes is washing and then re-oiling, and the filter is as good as new.
