When the v3 came out, i was astounded by how technologically advanced this bike is for its segment. With the bs6 variant, they went even further. This shows that yamaha intently listens to the customers and i can't thank them enough. I bought the top end darknight bs6 variant in february 2020 and received it on my birthday. The dealer made the process completely painless. I didn't have to visit the dealership more than once and they took care of everything for me.The first thing you notice when on the r15v3, if transitioning from a commuter bike like splendor is the placement of the foot pedals. It is way at the back, and that was when i realised this bike will have an ultra aggressive riding posture contrary to most people who find it to be so when reaching for the handle bar. Since the riding position is aggressive you sit higher, hence i wouldn't recommend the bike to anyone under 5'7".When you go for the ignition, the engine gives a low growl at 1500rpm that tells you this is serious business. Since then, i rode around the city, in traffic and on highways. I've had the pleasure of cruising on the bike at 60kmph and i have also cranked it up to 135kmph myself. The variable valve actuation does wonders for the bike in the high rev range. The bike has a mildly ferocious bite throughout the rev range which is an amazing thing to experience. You can feel the engine saying "i can do more". Despite the compact, tightly controlled and highly potent engine, the real fun with this bike is on the turns. It is an absolute treat. If you lean into the turn, it skims through and even if you fail to follow the line, the bike manages to maintain a taut line for you. It is like running a knife through butter. The slipper clutch is also a boon. So whether you are a speed junkie or love the winding mountainous turns, the r15v3 will make you gasp in admiration. The downsides are the pain in the wrists if you don't maintain proper posture. If you let your bodyweight be supported on your arms, your wrists will develop a dull pain. Maintain a proper, wide chested posture with your core engaged and elbows unlocked, and the wrist pain will reduce considerably. People have said they have felt some pain in the lower back but fortunately i haven't had any problems with my back on this bike. Second, since it is only a 155cc engine, the bike does tend to lose its bite above 125kmph. You can feel the engine straining a little at the higher end of its capabilities. The bike has a road presence like no other. Commuters take you seriously if you want to change lanes or cross a street. It has the ability to make a few heads turn. The headlights could have been more powerful but since i mostly ride in the city, with well lit roads, i haven't faced much of a problem. The dual horn setup introduced in bs6 along with the side stand kill switch are fun additions to the already loaded bike. The first service will be within a month or 1000km and service centres in mumbai are satisfactory. I had the opportunity to see through the servicing and got multiple tips to maintain the bike. The most important rule for newbies is to use the bike cautiously for the first 1500 km. Make sure that during the break in period, you don't subject the bike to sudden acceleration and deceleration. Also, despite the bike not needing a traditional break in period, try riding the bike in the 40-80 kmph speed range and frequently accelerate and decelerate to let the bike learn how to behave at different speeds. Remember to use the accelerator frequently but slowly. If you take care of the bike in the early stages, the maintenance costs will be a bare minimum for years to come.To summarise, this feature loaded bike with a powerful engine are an engineer's dream. Style and substance, this bike has it all. It is an all round package with stunning looks, breathtaking capabilities and great after sales service which make owning a yamaha r15v3 an absolute pleasure and frankly, if you ask for anything more from this bike at this cost, you're greedy!

Tips for Yamaha YZF R15 V3

Use the accelerator frequently but slowly to accustom the bike to different speeds. Don't let the bike sit after a wash, ride it for a few minutes to dry it off. Don't use a high power water jet or you might make the water seep into machinery where it shouldn't be. Use Yamaha chain lube once a month.

It's very engaging with lot of front end feel. Also the smoothness and crisp gearbox with very tall gearing. The v3 is the best track bike in the segment. The rider will get tremendous confident throughout riding even there is cornering as well. Overall we deserve this bike because it looks amazing and runs smoothly, and its pick is really not compared to this. The mileage on the r15 is good and its a fun bike to ride. Also it doesn't have any heating issue. Its perfect for city commuting & good for long rides. Amazing & Stunning look. I don't have this bike but in future i will.

The yamaha r15 is a sports bike manufactured by yamaha motor company. It was first released in 2008 and has been updated several times since then. The bike has a 150cc single-cylinder engine, producing 17.8 horsepower. It has a six-speed gearbox and a top speed of around 135km/h. The bike has a lightweight frame and is designed for agility and maneuverability. The bike has a sporty design and is equipped with features such as adjustable suspension, digital instrumentation, and a wide range of accessories. Despite its popularity, the yamaha r15 has been criticized for its lack of power and poor fuel economy. It is also known for its high maintenance costs and frequent breakdowns. Though customer service is rather responsive repairs are quite affordable if we compare them to other same-spec bikes in the market.

I am not using Yamaha r15 v3 but this bike is very nice .First point is it is available with double abs brake. Another point is the digital meter, normal seat height. Its average mileage is 40-45. The bike looks sporty. Yamaha V3 in Rs.150000/--170000/- good price range. One of the best bikes. I am using Yamaha fz15.

  • A disappointing ride a review of the yamaha r15

    Aayushdixit

The riding experience is nice because I rode my friend's r 15 their company provides exhaust is amazing.
The back look is good than their front look, performance is decent not very good, and not very bad.

    Vihnukumar

It's very engaging with lot of front end feel. Also the smoothness and crisp gearbox with very tall gearing. The v3 is the best track bike in the segment. The rider will get tremendous confident throughout riding even there is cornering as well. Overall we deserve this bike because it looks amazing and runs smoothly, and its pick is really not compared to this. The mileage on the r15 is good and its a fun bike to ride. Also it doesn't have any heating issue. Its perfect for city commuting & good for long rides. Amazing & Stunning look. I don't have this bike but in future i will.
