Nice sporty bike with minimal maintenance work
6 years ago
Alex Mohandas
I bought this bike when i wanted to upgrade from my automatic-scooter to a powerful manual-bike.
I got the bike delivered within 3 days from ordering. To be frank, i was bit scared to ride a sports bike with manual gear as i was used to automatic transmission scooter.
But to my surprise, the bike handling was extremely smooth and easy and did not show any sign of being a bulky machine. Transmission is smooth and maintenance is very low. The only time i had to go for maintenance was for scheduled free maintenance and for the yearly maintenance and oil change.
I had to replace the back tire after 3 years as it got a series of punctures (due to bad road condition. Removed two nails from it :( ).
Riding pleasure is great and the riding position is bit tilted to front for an average height person.
Pick up and acceleration is great and it lives up to it's sports-model name.
Mileage gets weaker as years goes by. When i purchased it, i used to get a mileage of 40, but now i get around 30.
The front dome gives a good look for the bike and dual headlight is a main attraction factor.
There was no requirement to change any part till now (6 years).
The only issue i had, was regarding starting the bike when the bike is unused for a month. If the bike is parked idle (vacation time) for a months time, then kick starting it is a hectic job(self start doesn't seem to work after one month idle time). It takes around 10 minutes of kick-starting to get the bike started :(
Overall, a good sporty bike which i can rely on.

Yamaha fazer - great bike at all condition
6 years ago
Rajat
Delivery was on time after my booking at pacer motors - bangalore. Ever since, i have purchased it, i used to take for all of sales market visit as well as touring in and around of karnataka and neighboring states. Performance wise yamaha never fails and look wise, i think it was first model in India with sporty look at this price range. Also, i would love to give in service at yamaha service centers only, because i feel very happy while riding every time i get it serviced by them.
Pros :
Disk brake works perfectly great - and rider should have a good control over vehicle
No back pain - sitting ergonomics is really good
Does not vibrate even at speed of 125 kmph (i have rode at maximum)
Cons :
mileage depends on the riding quality of every person.

Style i gone crazy after looking at the style.
Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox mileage would have been better but best bike to ride in cities and better one for long ride.
Ride quality & handling awesome.
Final words if you love yamaha and impressed with the first look go for it. Mileage concerns will always be there in sporty bikes but if you maintain fazer well you will be rewarded with good mileage.
Areas of improvement na.

well riding a sport-bike is my passion and the look it gets from its mirrors position has attracted me a lot. Thus, purchased it with ease and experienced the wonderful smooth riding. It's fabulous driving position has makes each and every person looks over the bike. And little disappointment with hyderabad service center never worth work for the money we spent, worst maintenance by authorized service centers.

Yamaha fazer review

With the complete sporty look, and a free handle it gives you a much flexible and comfortable ride in that price range .
Pros: 1. Wide rear tire grip gives you better balance over curves.
2.Smoothness in the ride you can feel.
3. The pick up capacity is much high when compared to the newer versions.
Cons: 1. It slowdowns very quick in the running when you leave the acceleration.( this is the major draw back)
2. Heavy maintenance cost for the spares.( often you need to change the clutch plates, air filter or else it wouldn't be that much smooth ride)

1) buying was not much hectic
2) bike riding is smooth upto max speed of 95 kmph
3) love the yamaha pickup as always, looks good specially they eyes
4) had issues with service centers as i found less professionals to services and do maintenance of your bike still expects lot many improvements on this
5) love the pick up even it has 149cc engine, much comfortable on sharp turns, much balanced thanks to broad tyres but below expectation life spam, dual headlights which spreads the focus on road and leads in less visibility on night travel have to add additional leds. Uncomfortable rides to person seats on your back as it has very narrow seat.

Worst decision to buy FAZER (waste of money)
Nipun Sharma
I bought Yamaha Fazer in year 2011 left home a bit to buy Bajaj Pulsar but ended up buying a Fazer as the showrooms were almost closed and that decision of mine was proven to be the worst oneVery heavy bike in the segment, riding was smooth but much more expensive as the mileage that was claimed (50km/l) by the co. was never achieved just gave me mileage between 30-35. I have never sped up using the bike as it is said more speed will lower the mileage of the vehicle but still very little mileageif you wanna have a trendy-looking bike then this is the one for you but if expecting value for money don't go for itperformance: if you are looking for high speed vehicle then you can buy it, the balance of the bike is goodservicing: after-sales service is very poor as well as maintenance is very expensive as and when I went for servicing the workers were unskilled every point we have to tell them again and again, if you need some part to be replaced then it took very long to get it.

Ride quality & handling awesome.
Final words if you love yamaha and impressed with the first look go for it. Mileage concerns will always be there in sporty bikes but if you maintain fazer well you will be rewarded with good mileage.
Areas of improvement na.
Pros
shock absorber, seating and performance
cons
head light and mileage

well riding a sport-bike is my passion and the look it gets from its mirrors position has attracted me a lot. Thus, purchased it with ease and experienced the wonderful smooth riding. It's fabulous driving position has makes each and every person looks over the bike. And little disappointment with hyderabad service center never worth work for the money we spent, worst maintenance by authorized service centers.

This is a fun bike to ride. Very good stability at high speeds. Good breaking power. Superb acceleration. Good for long rides. No tiredness. Easy to maintain and own. Completely hassle free. No problems at all. Excellent looks and good design. Good ground clearance. Can easily go over obstructions. 17 inch wheels make it a pleasure to ride.

Tips for other riders
Give for the servicing for every 1800-2200 kms. It prolongs the engine life

Love to drive fazer
