Inherited this beauty of a bike from my dad last year. Suzuki does an amazing job with its bikes. When I got it, it was 100000 km ridden . Since we bought the bike in 2008, apart from issues which can be covered while servicing, there have been no major problems on the bike. The bike was truly ahead of its time when it launched way back in 2008-09, featuring dual horns, trip meters and even riding modes. Even after servicing it now in 2021, it is capable of running like new. The styling of the bike reminds of being a mini hayabusa at heart, and an amazing commuter which still turns heads now. Mileage is still good, though I haven't calculated the exact figures yet, it gives me about 35-45 km/l even after all these years. There was a fuel tank rusting on the inside, but I will be the one to blame for that I guess, since I didn't ride the bike for about 2 months since I got it, in the monsoon season. This was perhaps due to not replacing the fuel tank seals on time. All in all it is a fabulous machine which proves itself time and again even after all these years of use and abuse. It is easy to use and maintain, and does not hurt the pocket so much. I will always recommend it.

It was an exceptional experience while buying and using bike later. Rode bike for 700 kms non stop and had no issues whatsoever. A awesome bike to have at the said price. Talking about mileage, had 65 km/ltr for first 5 years and now 50 km/lit. Only problem is with spares, you won't find spares anywhere other than suzuki service centers.

Very comfortable bike, not sure why suzuki has stopped this bike. I had driven this bike for 60,000km from past 7 years. -build quality - 4/5-stability -5/5-control-4/5-mileage - 45-50 kmp-comfort - 5/5. Suzuki engine is smooth, maintenance less cost. Only issue with service, suzuki service stations are not good.Overall good ..

I have 8 years old suzuki gs 150 r have ride 187000 kms still the bike has no vibrations. Very good for daily commute. If you get this bike in second hand definitely buy this beast really awesome machine in terms of mileage as well as power. Its a excellent bike ever, I got mileage 56/km/l, full stability bike like ambassador car. But this bike has been discontinued and it is unfortunate thing for suzuki customers. As per experience in suzuki its a far better than other two wheeler company bikes. Good pickup and mileage i have using this bike for last 7 years.

  • Nice product from suzuki

    Akhilesh

Style gs 150r is a regular looking bike with the name of suzuki. The bike is not good in appealing but build quality is up to mark. Bike is stable in touring purpose and excellent product for long ride of above 500 kms. Many of them not like this gs 150r for city riding purpose which is true and there were some technical drawbacks in gross weight and handling of bike

engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox engine for covering long distances is good here. Required amount of power is easily avaliable from final drive and delivers a long lasting smooth driving experience. The fuel economy is also fair here and we get a mileage of 45 kmpl in tour purpose and in city it drastically falls to 34 kmpl. Gearbox is sleek and fine here and smooth power ratio between gears selection.

Ride quality & handling riding a gs150r is awesome here there were no issues here. Handling of weighted bike for some peoples is a hard task. If we tour in a highway it is the best machine on indian roads.

Final words reworked in service centres persons, makesa a bike excellent.

    Suresh

After a lot of detailed research, mostly internet search about experiences from owners, i bought a black gs150r in 2010. It was definitely a head turner - the number of gs150r was practically one in 1000 bikes on road that time. I enjoyed everyone enquiringly about the 6th gear, looks and mileage.

    Pros:

Despite being a front heavy and assumable large bike looks, the bike is a breeze to move and ride, both in stop-and-go traffic and long winding roads. The sixth gear especially comes in useful when touring. With a large fuel tank, bigger than its competitors, it returns a decent mileage of 40 to 45kmph for a heavy 150cc engine. It also offers excellent seating comfort, both for the driver and the pillion. The pillion feels very comfortable, even when seated facing sideways.

    Cons:

The tyres and brakes are a bit smaller and don’t offer you the confidence and comfort you would expect from a bike of this range. Rear disc brakes would have been a better option, while suzuki should have considered offering wider tyres, considering the size of the bike. The default tyres don’t offer great grip, especially when driving on unpacked roads or on sand. The headlights too offer poor illumination, and are mounted at a wrong angle which cannot be altered much, leading to glare for opposite vehicles (i have faced many vehicles who constantly complain about my headlight glare, even on low beam).

    Long term ownership:

The bike doesn’t demand any pampering and doesn’t cry for excess attention. All that it needs is your regular oil, brake and wash, and it drives like a charm. A regular service at a suzuki dealer, or a local mechanic also doesn’t cost much, with my 4 to 6 month checkup only being around 600 to 800. A few parts like the outer cover (a small plate) of the silencer and the side-stand showing signs of some rust, which could have been avoided. This is overall a no problem bike from suzuki.

    Verdict:

Suzuki has never been successful at its sales and marketing campaigns in India in the two wheeler segment, which shows in the poor sales of this bike. However, the bike has never put me down when riding for long distances, over wet roads or in corners, and feels planted due to its weight, and offers great comfort on highways without any discomfort to the driver. Save for the cons mentioned above, i have also never faced any niggling issues over my long term ownership, and would definitely rate this better than any other 150cc bikes, for both personal and family commute.

    The complete bike indeed!
Buying experience was amazing. Its looks attracted me and immediately i rushed to the showroom during 2015 and booked the same. As far as riding experience is concerned, it is excellent. Its six gear ratio is very useful for city as well as in highways. Servicing is not at all an issue in Chennai city. Still I maintained the bike with servicing at showrooms only. Mileage is good. Pick up is also good. Its instrument cluster is marvelous. Yes it has gear shift indicator, fuel indicator, tachometer, clock and power and economic mode. To say in a simple sentence, it is a complete bike. Suzuki should not have discontinued this bike. I love it very much

  • A bike of 2 generations.

    Ishan
