Great scooter, but a missed opportunity from Suzuki.

I don't own this scooter, but I did have some test rides of it, because I wanted to upgrade from my 2015 Swish 125 facelift.THINGS I LIKED: 1. STYLING: Since I was looking for a sports-styled body, the Avenis did catch my eye. It is a good-looking, handsome scooter with sharp graphics all over the body. 2. FEATURES: Not the best in class features here but you'll find most things that modern scooters get. Bluetooth, Navigation, Disc Brakes, Charging port, it has all those basics covered.3: REFINEMENT: The 125cc Suzuki engine is very refined and reliable. It doesn't transfer unnecessary vibrations to the body. Keep it serviced and you'll have a trouble-free experience in the engine department at least. You can cruise on the highway at 70-75km/h all day and the engine will still run as smoothly as silk.THINGS I DID NOT LIKE:1. THE ELECTRONICS: These issues existed with my Swish 125 as well, and it's sad that they haven't changed their ways in 10 years. If you are coming from a Honda/TVS, you'll know exactly what I mean. The switches and the wiring are not very high quality and you'll see that with time. 2. THE BUILD QUALITY: Same goes for the panel fit and finish. The plastic parts are good but the bits that connect them, when they break (which they will after some time), the entire thing could start rattling. Some of these parts are not screwed but they are connected joint-to-joint. These are the places where things can break.3. THE EXPECTATION VS. WHAT YOU GET: My problem is, when I'm looking for a sports scooter, I'm expecting slightly better performance than regular/commuter 125cc scooters. You don't get that here. When TVS did their NTorq, they did not just take a Jupiter 125cc engine and put it in a racy body. They returned the engine, put on bigger wheels, tuned the suspension and put on a different exhaust, making it more powerful, sports-oriented, and different than their Jupiter 125. Hero did the same with their Xoom 125 by making it different from their Destini 125. So you get 14-inch wheels, and a different engine tune, which makes it go from 0-60 in the quickest time. But, has Suzuki made the Avenis different/unique? Naah. It's just a Suzuki Access in different clothing. This would have been fine if it were priced well, but no. It costs just as much as the Xoom or NTorq, and the Avenis underperform both of those. Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty quick, but when you're in a market looking for a sports scooter, I can see why people would overlook the Avenis. Not because its not a good product, but because it isn't offering anything unique to the customer. And since it's just an Access in a different clothing, people end up buying the Access instead, which is cheaper and has the same performance level and features.VERDICT: I like the Avenis. It has the basics right. It will do everything a 125cc scooter should do and it's very, very refined. It handles well, it is quick, comfortable, and it has all the features. But if performance is your top priority, you have better choices at this price point. And Suzuki needs to do something. My 2015 Swish has almost the same power and torque figures as their newer models. They need to wake up and up their engine performance and build quality.

Not a E20-compliant. Small necessary feature not available. Low Average, not smooth riding. Body makes sound too much. Not comfortable. Not a good choice for buying scooty.

It is a very good scooter and its performance is also great. It runs like a rocket on the highway. It is a very comfortable vehicle. Three people can travel comfortably sitting in it. Its mileage is also good, I myself travelled 30 km in 1 litre of petrol without any stoppage. And it is very light and smooth
