A bike you must ride upon

A great bike to ride , you go to plains , or high hilly terrain , it will always give you the real feel of riding.
Royal enfield made like a gun goes like a bullet.
It was used everything for long riding without any back pain.
Royal enfield looks awesome.
And the classic, heritage and time-tested performance go hand in hand. Its dashing, vintage-inspired looks are underscored by an enfield trademark - dependability.
The thunderbird is a machine you can count on, come hill, dale or plain. It has the torque to flatten mountains and persevere through entire ranges.

A friend indeed...

Amar Jyoti Bairagi
Buying the bike was a story in itself. I had to wait for 7 months to receive the bike against the booking. The registration went on smooth and within a few days, i was hitting the asphalt and travelling places. Got a very decent registration number also.
Riding the bike for a few days changed my view of treating a bike. It became more like a partner than a machine. The sitting posture is very comfortable and so is it's handling and acceleration. Most important of all, it gave me confidence to travel through very rough and unforgiving terrain which i had never before attempted. It takes on the terrain like a champ. Very comfortable indeed.
The bike has a very masculine appearance and it really brings out the beast-y looks in a decent manner. The projector lamp along with white led ring drl comes with the bike which not only gives the bike a very modern looks but also makes a day in dark. Acceleration is more than enough considering the fact that it's a cruiser. However, at times, the 41 nm torque on the cruiser frame feels wickedly aggressive. It's very easy to pull a wheelie where the engine does it's part with ease even in the second gear....Not to mention controlling the bike which is your responsibility. It handles really well at all speed but tricky manoeuvre should be avoided above 70kmph. Needless to say, go get a test ride...
Servicing can be done in royal enfield authorised service centre and they are very helpful and co-operative.. It's a bit expensive though. After converting from fi to carburetor, i get around 25-32 kmpl on my tbts500
The bike needs some time to adjust to because of its different posture but once it is adjusted, you feel like a king riding it. The lack of tubeless tyre is really a pain in the ass but it can be fitted with a mag wheel and hence, tubeless tyre. The rear tire which is 120mm doesn't provide adequate grip so i upgraded mine to 130. Now it bites the road like a pitbull. The fi system is very prone to issues which cannot be rectified, only replaced...Hence switched to a carburetor.
Overall, being a highway cruiser...It performed really very well on off-road tracks...It has been one of my greatest companion and it definitely is royal (the feel on the bike) as its brand suggest...

I bought the bike in 2014 since then i have done around 11000 km both in city mainly commuting to office market and also have done short and long tours my bike has a shiny black colour with some chrome thrown in the bike has a great pickup and also lot of low end and middle end torque the low end torque is especially useful in stop and go city traffic the seating posture is upright so that it is comfortable for touring the shock absorbers are fine and one does not feel any bumps except the potholes the seat is meant for cruising but the shape hurts your back after 2 hours of riding the brakes are ok with abs now in the new model the comfortable cruising speed is between 100 kmph the brake shoes require cleaning as sometime a squeaking sound comes also i had got the tank replaced as it got rusted inside it was only 4 months i had bought the bike it was replaced free of cost as it was under warranty the headlamp has a drl which looks cool all lights are led the clutch cable is prone to getting broken the engine is smooth and revs easily and the pickup is great overall a good bike

Best budget off-roader

It's the best budget off roading bike after driving 800 km non-stop without any problems and without any discomfort. And the bikewale app helps me to check the better price the thunderbird's built for highway cruising. Its set-in, laid-back riding stance has you going for hours on end without fatigue. Many thoughtful inclusions, among them a 20 litre fuel tank gives you 550 to 700 kilometres at a stretch - make every trip a breeze for the leisure motorcyclist and at every turn, its looks will turn heads.

I have moved on to trivandrum. Want to get my karnataka reg bullet disposed. Price is negotiable. So far i had no major issues, though the clutch seems to be not proper of late. I have sparingly used this bike and it is more or less a single user vehicle. Those who knows the technical aspects of bullet can have a look and then decide

Royal enfield #thunderbird is great adventure for your tours and travels , it supports all your requirements to meet your perfect bike satisfaction. The 500x has no mechanical changes from the standard thunderbird. It comes powered by the same 499cc air-cooled fuel-injected single cylinder engine, producing 27.5ps and 41.3nm. It is mated to the same 5-speed gearbox too. And while i may have outgrown my thunderbird days, there is certainly a younger crowd that will find the 500x just right for a relaxed ride around town or even short jaunts up the twisties on weekends.Hope you enjoy the beauty of this beast.

Talking about the parts availability and servicing, the service will not cost you much as doing a research I found out the service cost to vary around Rs 1800 to Rs 2000 on the max. But at the end, it varies from dealership to dealership and hence you can easily ask for the same from various other RE dealerships, thanks to the widespread network of the brand. Hence, servicing and spare part availability shouldn’t be a problem either.

Only con maintenance costs
Kunal
Considering the growing popularity of royal enfield in india, decided to go for this bike. There was 1 month of wait time for 500cc and even more for 350cc model. Ride quality is really superb, it handles very well. Being 500cc motor its very thumpy, there's a lot of power available when you open up the throttle. Catches triple digit speeds easily. Everything about the bike is good except for the maintenance. Each time you go to service the bike you'll end up spending about 7-8k approx. Each time there will be some new problem with the bike. Except for that, the bike vibrates a lot past 80kmph. Yet you get used to it eventually. Maintaining 100-120kmph is no big deal on this bike once you get used to the vibrations. Overall superb machine.

Hassle free ride. Ride it like a king. The thing I want to say that you have to maintain your bike or vehicle as each and every vehicle required. So that the bike mileage will boost up second thing is that everyone suggest you to service your bike timely and by professionals that means in registered company service centers only.

Buying experience was good , the team at the showroom helped me in getting my bike ready. When you ride this bike you will feel you are the kings moving on the road. You will feel more comfortable ride long distance. The thunderbird 500 looks very beautiful with 20 litre tank shape. It looks more beautiful when you put on side stand.

It rides like thunder
Through the clouds,
Glides like a bird
Through the sky...

Bike for daily commute and touring too
Ajay

Vaibhav
It's the best budget off roading bike after driving 800 km non-stop without any problems and without any discomfort. And the bikewale app helps me to check the better price the thunderbird's built for highway cruising. Its set-in, laid-back riding stance has you going for hours on end without fatigue. Many thoughtful inclusions, among them a 20 litre fuel tank gives you 550 to 700 kilometres at a stretch - make every trip a breeze for the leisure motorcyclist and at every turn, its looks will turn heads.
