TVS Motors sees marginal decrease in December sales

TVS Motor Company has witnessed a marginal decrease in its sales for December 2012. The Hosur based two-wheeler manufacturer sold 1, 51, 735 units as compared to 1, 67, 905 units in the corresponding period last year.

In the motorcycle segment, the company sold 60,210 units in December as against 56,662 units in the same month of the previous year, registering a six per cent increase of sales. However, total domestic sales of two-wheelers declined from 1, 46, 747 (December 2011) as compared to 1, 34, 735 units (December 2012).

Scooter sales decreased to 30,398 units from 44,804 units as compared to same month of previous year. The company didn’t quite do well in the export market. It exported 17,169 units as compared to 21,158 units exported in the same month previous year.
