Royal Enfield has introduced a new smartphone app that tracks the bike's ride data. It is called Wingman and shows the rider's daily riding pattern.
Currently, this service is available only on the Super Meteor 650 and will come as standard. However, the ex-showroom price will increase by Rs 6500. Customers who have already purchased the Super Meteor 650 can buy the device and get it fitted at the nearest Royal Enfield service centre. However, current Super Meteor 650 customers' prices have yet to be revealed.
Through Wingman, the rider can check the bike's battery health, service alerts and engine on and off status. In fact, if the GPS is enabled, the rider can check and track the motorcycle along with the last parking location. This app also provides rider's riding statistics like daily riding distance average and maximum speed, along with sudden braking and acceleration notifications.
This is the first time Royal Enfield has introduced a service like this. While the cost of this device is a bit high, it will definitely add a lot of value to the owner. The Wingman will likely be offered on the Himalayan 450 after it goes on sale.
