Keeway recently launched its latest 250cc motorcycle, the SR250 in India at the Auto Expo 2023. It gets an asking price of Rs 1,49,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is offered in three colours. Now, the aforementioned price gives you a multitude of options and we’ve listed the top five in this story. 

Hero Xpulse 200T 4V

Hero MotoCorp recently launched the updated Xpulse 200T in India. With an asking price of Rs 1,35,726 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Xpulse 200T received the 4-valve treatment. It’s powered by a 199cc single-cylinder motor that dishes out 18.83bhp and 17.3Nm. The motor is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The Xpulse 200T features a fully-digital dash with smartphone connectivity, LED illumination, and ABS. The bike rides on telescopic front forks and a monoshock. If you are looking for a versatile commuter under the said budget, the Xpulse 200T could be a worthy option. 

Suzuki Gixxer SF

With a price tag of Rs 1,37,100 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Suzuki Gixxer SF has also made it to the list. The Japanese offering has been around for a while and makes for a decent commuter with a dash of sportiness. It packs a 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor belting 13.4bhp and 13.8Nm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Suzuki has equipped the Gixxer SF with LED illumination, disc brakes with ABS, and a fully digital instrument console. 

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V

The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V too has been a prominent name in the 200cc segment. It retails at Rs 1,39,690 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is one of the most feature-rich motorcycles in its category. The bike draws power from a 197.75cc motor that develops 20.54 bhp and 17.25 Nm. It features three ride modes, adjustable suspension, LED illumination, a digital console with TVS SmartXonnect for calls, SMS alerts, and more. The display also gives you various riding stats on the go. Overall, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V checks the box of a commuter motorcycle, as well as packs the performance that a younger buyer would anticipate.

Another TVS offering that could be an alternative to the Keeway SR250 is the Ronin. It’s priced at Rs 1,49,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and offers a rather laid-back commuting experience. The Ronin houses a 225.9cc BS6 engine which develops 20.1 bhp and 19.93 Nm. It’s linked to a five-speed gearbox. TVS has equipped with LED illumination, a digital dash with smartphone connectivity, and ABS for the safety net. The hardware comprises USD front forks and a monoshock while the braking hardware consists of a front and rear disc brake. 

Royal Enfield Hunter

Last but not least, the Royal Enfield Hunter too is an option with its asking price of Rs 1,49,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s Royal Enfield’s most affordable motorcycle and costs just Rs 900 more than the SR250. The Hunter packs a 349cc single-cylinder motor that makes 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm. It’s mated to a five-speed gearbox. Royal Enfield has equipped the Hunter with telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. Overall, the bike is quite lighter than its siblings and makes for a decent commuter and a decent tourer as well.
