Kawasaki unveils the 2016 Ninja ZX-10R and it is coming to India soon

Kawasaki unveiled the 2016 Ninja ZX-10R at a press conference held in Spain today. Kawasaki claims that its WSBK team gave lot of inputs, to make this bike as close to the advanced factory superbike.

While the 2016 Ninja ZX-10R looks quite similar to the existing one, Kawasaki has heavily worked on every aspect of this motorcycle. On the styling front, the ZX-10R gets a larger top fairing to improve high-speed stability and aerodynamic flow. The tail design has been changed slightly to accommodate a sharper looking rear end.

Kawasaki has updated the proven 998cc inline-four cylinder engine. It gets a new cylinder head, which is 20 per cent lighter than the old one. Kawasaki claims that the new engine’s reduction in inertia allows it to spin-up much faster. Kawasaki has given the bike a new titanium exhaust system and new electronic throttle. The combustion chamber has been revised to improve intake and exhaust efficiency. The pistons are now shorter and lighter too. The gearbox has been given closer ratios for second to the sixth gears and Kawasaki says it has also worked to give the 2016 ZX-10R an improved mid-low range acceleration, along with improved stability when downshifting.

The new ZX-10R is loaded with high-end electronics. It gets the Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) which operates through five measured axes plus a calculated programme which allows the bike to know what is going on in terms of lean angle, pitch and yaw, acceleration and braking. Other than this, the Japanese machine gets Kawasaki Launch Control Mode (KLCM), Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System (KIBS), Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS), Kawasaki Engine Brake Control (KEBC) and new Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control (S-KTRC)

Kawasaki has equipped the 2016 Ninja ZX-10R with top of the line Brembo M50 monoblocs and radially mounted 330mm twin discs at the front. At the rear, there is a 220mm single disc with an aluminium single-piston caliper.

We are expecting Kawasaki to showcase the 2016 Ninja ZX-10R at the 2016 EICMA show. The big news for the Indian market is that India Kawasaki Motors will bring this machine soon to India via the completely-built-up (CBU) route at a price marginally over the current Ninja ZX-10R.
