India-bound 166bhp Ducati Diavel V4 revealed

- Gets new styling

- Makes 165.7bhp and 126Nm

- Indian launch details unavailable yet

Ducati has updated its product portfolio and revealed the new Diavel V4 for the international markets. This power cruiser will also enter India, but its launch details are not available yet.

After the Panigale, Streetfighter and Multistrada, the V4 Granturismo engine has made its way into the Diavel family. This iteration of the power cruiser from the Italian manufacturer now uses a 1,158cc V4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 165.7bhp of maximum output at 10,750rpm and 126Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm.

At the same time, the V4-powered Diavel tips the weighing scales 13kg lesser than the Diavel 1260 – thus giving it a better power-to-weight ratio. Further, the major maintenance, similar to the Multistrada V4, is scheduled at 60,000km intervals while the extended deactivation system aims to deliver better fuel economy. This feature shuts off the rear bank when the vehicle is stationary or while riding at low engine speeds.

Then, there is the revised styling that is new, and yet reminiscent of the Diavel family. Thus, it packs a muscular design along with a single-sided swingarm, and a massive 240/45-section rear tyre. The V4 version, however, gets an all-new headlight design, single-side quad-exhaust pipes, stylish wheels, and an futuristic-looking LED taillight – all of which distinguish this Diavel from its V-twin-powered predecessor.

Other hardware on the Diavel V4 includes 50mm upside-down front forks, a cantilever-pattern rear shock absorber, and Brembo Stylema calipers and dual 330mm front discs.

The comprehensive electronics package includes three power modes, four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, and the new Wet), traction control with cornering function, ABS with cornering function, launch control, and wheelie control. For added convenience, the motorcycle benefits from a cruise control system and a bidirectional quickshifter. It does, however, miss the radar tech for adaptive cruise control system that is available on the Multistrada V4. Other features include full-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled five-inch colour TFT dashboard.

The new Diavel V4 will be available in the European markets from January 2023 while it will reach the US in February 2023. Internationally, this motorcycle will be sold in the classic Ducati Red or in Thrilling Black paint options. The Indian launch details, as mentioned above, are not available yet.
