Hero MotoCorp April sales down by 9.51 per cent

Hero MotoCorp has reported a 9.51 per cent decline during the month of April. The company sold 4, 99,113 units as compared to 5, 51,557 units in the corresponding month last year.

"We are glad to have opened the new financial year with dispatch of close to five lakh two-wheelers in April....we expect retails sales to stay buoyant even in May," said Anil Dua, senior vice president, Hero MotoCorp.

The Gurgaon based maker is likely to have a tough time going forward as erstwhile partner and current rival; Honda is currently on an aggressive launching spree in India. The company has announced that they will be launching one model every quarter to increase their product portfolio. Honda recently launched the entry level 110cc motorcycle, the Dream Neo which directly competes with the Hero Splendor series.
