Day 2 of 2018 INMRC concludes by stellar performance from KY Ahmed and Senthil Kumar

- KY Ahmed seals victory in SuperSport 165

- Senthil Kumar wins Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup

- Anish Shetty claims top slot in Pro Stock 165

The day two of the 2018 Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship has concluded at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Even with the rain threatening to play spoilsport, we got to see some closely fought battles in the six races conducted through the day.

The Race 1 of the premier SuperSport 165 category saw two Honda riders, Mathana Kumar and Sarath Kumar, qualify in the first row. A couple of crashes led to the race being red flagged and reduced to seven laps. While the Honda riders got off to a good start, the defending champion Jagan Kumar and his TVS Racing team-mate KY Ahmed slipped past and maintained their lead till the end. The race concluded with KY Ahmed’s first-ever race win in the SuperSport 165 category, with Jagan and Mathana completing the podium.

In the ProStock 165 category, Honda rider Anish Shetty started second in the grid and ended up securing a win. Privateer Peddu Sriharsha from Rockers Racing and TVS rider S Sivanesan completed the podium. The Pro-Stock 301-400cc race was won by Antony Peter from Vortex Racing, followed by Peddu Sriharsha from Sparks Racing and Ananth Krishnan from Apex Racing Academy.

Honda and TVS also conducted the first races of their respective One Make championships over the day. Senthil Kumar, who had started ninth on the grid, went on to win the Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup after a closely fought battle with Anish Shetty. Anish finished second while Jaden Gunawardena from Sri Lanka was promoted to the third spot. The TVS Apache RTR Novice class was won by Karthik Mateti, followed by Mohamed Shafin and AS Alexander. Ryhana Bee secured a win in the TVS Girls category, followed by Ann Jennifer and RV Czimkay.

Today is the third and the last day of the first round of the 2018 Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway. We will be witnessing riders give their best shot in the Race 2 of all these categories.
