BMW F 900 XR: Top 5 highlights

BMW Motorrad has launched its new, F 900 XR middleweight ADV sports tourer in the Indian market at attractive introductory prices. The motorcycle will compete against the likes of Ducati Multistrada 950 and the Triumph Tiger 900 GT series. Here we list the top highlights of the new F 900 XR.

BMW F900XR Left Front Three Quarter

The new F 900 XR draws styling cues from the company’s litre-class ADV sports tourer, the S 1000 XR. The motorcycle comes equipped with sleek, twin-pod LED headlights at the front along with a semi-fairing design and an adjustable windscreen. The rear features a slim and short tail that aims to invoke its athletic nature. The BMW F 900 XR is available in two colour options – Light White and Style Sport Racing Red paintwork.

BMW F900XR Headlamps

The BMW middleweight ADV sports tourer packs premium features such as full-LED lighting and 6.5-inch colour TFT screen with BMW Motorrad connectivity as standard. The Bluetooth connectivity function can be used to access functions such as calls, music and navigation using the multi-controller on the left-hand handlebar panel.

BMW F900XR Instrument cluster

Unlike the BMW F 900 R naked roadster, which will be sold in a single (Standard) variant, the F 900 XR will be available in two choices – Standard and Pro. The Standard version comes equipped with features such as two riding modes (Rain and Road), anti-lock braking system (ABS), automatic stability control (ASC) and anti-hopping clutch. The Pro variant of the motorcycle receives additional features such as the Cruise Control, Gear Shift Assist Pro (quick shifter) and the Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment).

BMW F900XR Rear Suspension

The motorcycle is based on the bridge frame that uses the engine as the stressed member. The steel rear frame is bolted to the chassis. Shock absorption tasks are handled by upside-down telescopic forks at the front and a central suspension strut at the back. The Pro version, as mentioned above, features Dynamic ESA. Anchoring power comes from twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back.

BMW Motorrad has introduced the F 900 XR at attractive introductory prices.
