2018 Harley-Davidson CVO range explained

Harley-Davidson has unveiled the new CVO family of cruisers for 2018. The range now consists of four models built in limited numbers by Harley-Davidson’s specialist division – the Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO). A common among all four is the new 1923cc Milwaukee-Eight 117  engine delivering 168Nm of torque. Here is a rundown on what each of these models have to offer – 

CVO Street Glide

A part of the company’s Touring range, the CVO Street Glide is a bagger motorcycle. It based on the Street Glide Special, which is one of the most popular cruisers in the brand’s portfolio. With the CVO treatment, the Street Glide now gets a ‘BOOM! Box 6.5GT’ audio system with three amplifiers and six speakers, putting out 900 watts. Even the lower fairing now integrates speakers. In case you feel that the speakers are too gaudy, you now have the option of wireless headsets. Stopping power is offered by linked Brembo brakes with ABS. It also gets a security system and a key fob which can lock and unlock the panniers. The CVO Street Glide is available in three paint schemes – grey, orange and silver. Prices start at USD 39,949 (Rs 25.57 lakhs).

CVO Road Glide

The CVO Road Glide is the Street Glide’s sportier twin and features the iconic ‘shark nose’ frame-mounted fairing with the twin headlamp setup. The CVO Road Glide now rides on a 21-inch front wheel, and the suspension has been tuned to improve the ride. The front fender and the exhaust system are unique to the CVO Road Glide. It gets a 600-watt ‘BOOM! Box 6.5GT’ audio system with the option of wireless headsets. It is offered in black, orange and silver paint schemes, and you can own it for USD 41,399 (Rs 26.50 lakhs).

CVO Limited 

The CVO Limited is the most premium and feature loaded Harley-Davidson that you can buy. Apart from the usual bells and whistles, this luxury tourer gets remote locking luggage, tyre pressure monitoring system, LED light surround and heated hammock seats. It gets the same 600-watt ‘BOOM! Box 6.5GT’ audio system with the option of wireless headsets like the CVO Road Glide. The CVO Limited can be specified in red, black and blue paint schemes. It retails at USD 42,949 (Rs 27.49 lakhs).

CVO Limited 115th Anniversary edition

The CVO Limited 115th Anniversary edition has been built to commemorate Harley-Davidson’s 115th anniversary. It is based on the CVO Limited but it gets unique paint schemes and badges to set it apart from the standard bike. The CVO Limited 115th Anniversary edition is offered in two paint schemes – blue and black. It has been priced at USD 43,950 (Rs 28.13 lakhs).
